Connors blocked the movers. "You can't take my things away!"

"Dr. Connors, I think you should calm down. Your cooperation with us is over." The person in charge sent by Oscorp sneered. "We gave you time, but your research hasn't brought any profit to Oscorp. It's time to leave."

"I'm almost there! I'm almost there!" Connors' eyes bulged. "Just a little more!"

"You say that every time. The company's in a slump, and we're not wasting any more funds on this project." The person in charge waved his hand, signaling the movers to clear things out. "Give it up, Dr. Connors. Your research is nothing but a pipe dream!"

Chapter 27: The Lizard Appears! The Female Knight Shows Her Might!

"You don't understand!" Connors stretched out his single arm, stubbornly blocking the employees. "This will be a great leap for humanity. You're committing a crime against mankind!"

"One day... one day..." Connors leaned against the metal equipment, his body slumping to the floor. "One day is nowhere near enough for clinical trials!" He looked at the row of green reagents on the table, a flash of madness in his eyes. He lunged forward, grabbed a vial, loaded it into a syringe, and aimed it at his arm...

"You just came to ask me to make these things? Then you can come pick them up another day." Tony glanced at the web-shooter design Black Spider had given him and commented, "Not that hard, but the creativity's solid, especially this web fluid."

"I didn't make this. If you meet the Female Knight and Ghost Spider, don't mention this to them." Ye Li finished his instructions and prepared to leave. "Handle the suits as you see fit. I'd like to see what a top-tier genius can do." It was better to keep Black Spider's identity under wraps. Tony was a smart guy—the more he said, the easier it was to slip up.

Ye Li sped along in his flashy modified car, Jessica sitting beside him, with Gwen and Skye in the back.

"Brother, it's rare for you to drive us to school." Jessica watched the scenery whiz by outside the window, feeling cheerful. "No need to jump my way there today~" She usually leaped between buildings to get to school, partly to train her abilities, but mostly to avoid being recognized on the street. At school, with teachers keeping order and her own reputation, she didn't get bothered much.

"Can't you fly yet, Jessica? You need to work harder." Gwen teased from the back seat.

"Gwen, what do you know about being a superhero?" Jessica shot back playfully. "Just keep being Ghost Spider's cosplayer and stay as our club's mascot." She glanced at the silent Ye Li. "Brother, don't be so quiet~ There are three beauties in the car. Say something."

"I'm driving. Say what? Why am I taking you to school today?" Ye Li looked at Skye in the rearview mirror. "Skye, you explain."

"Because Teacher has to go to school to teach today." Skye helped clarify.

"Teacher? Who, Li?" Jessica found Skye's address odd and turned to ask, "Hey, by the way, Skye, I thought you dropped out. Why are you coming along?"

"Because I'm Teacher's intern assistant now." Skye blinked her big black eyes playfully. "The obedient kind~"

"Assistant?"

"Skye, did you seduce Li?"

Gwen pouted, reaching out to tickle Skye's armpit. "Little Fox Spirit (Chinese)!"

"Hahaha~ Gwen, no~" Skye dodged, but she was no match for agile Gwen.

She always paired her legs with smooth stockings, and almost every day she switched to a different style, making the little boys at school stare in fascination.

With her sharp mind and the eye of a little pervert, Gwen reached a conclusion. "Jessica, could it be that you also...?"
