"But what?" Rolando asked.
"Wouldn't 20 points be too little? If we're going to gamble, let's make it bigger!"
Li Qi smiled, his tone somewhat provocative. "50 points! I'll wager half my initial points against you! Do you dare?"
"50 points!"
Looking at the newcomer before him, whose face still carried a trace of youthful immaturity, Rolando was uncertain. Half his initial points in a single wager! Where did this newcomer get such confidence?
50 points was no small number!
If one's trial mission completion rate was not high, the points earned would only amount to that much.
Faced with such a high wager, Rolando hesitated. Is he bluffing? Or does he have confidence that he can definitely beat me?
"So? Do you dare accept this wager worth 50 points?"
Li Qi asked again.
He isn't Planetary Level Ninth-Order, so that rules out the possibility of him being a Planetary Level domain genius!
Rolando's mind raced. Maybe he's just entered Stellar Training Camp and doesn't understand the situation. He thinks that because he stood out outside, he can beat me.
Or perhaps he's bluffing, intending to scare me off with a huge wager!
50 points isn't a small amount. Should I gamble or not?
Finally, after weighing the pros and cons, Rolando gritted his teeth. "50 points! I'll bet with you!"
"Good!"
Seeing Rolando agree to the wager, Li Qi smiled. "I'll send you the invitation now."
Ding!
A light screen appeared before Rolando. It was the match invitation sent by Li Qi.
As Rolando tapped the accept button with his finger, the two turned into light and vanished from the plaza.
"They went to the Battle Space. Looks like the newcomer accepted Rolando's wager."
One of the trainees who had been with Rolando earlier said.
"I'm so jealous that Rolando has points coming in. If I'd discovered that newcomer first, my secret manual would have been within reach."
Another trainee spoke enviously. He was only a few points short of exchanging for a secret manual.
The first trainee looked somewhat annoyed. "Can't be helped. Who told us to lose focus back then?"
"Once Rolando comes out, let's ask him how many points he won this time."
Battle Space.
The blazing sun shone in the sky, while the Earth below was a vast expanse of yellow sand.
A gust of wind swept past, carrying sand and dust into the air.
Li Qi wore black battle armor as he flew through the air. A silver-white greatsword floated behind him, while Gene Origin Energy shrouded his body, blocking out the dust in the wind.
Several kilometers opposite him, another person was also flying in the air.
Planetary Level Ninth-Order bodies, one first-order selectable Mental Force Weapon or Origin Force Weapon each, plus one first-order Force Battle Armor.
Li Qi smiled somewhat deviously. This setup heavily favors Spirit Readers. If that Rolando is a Martial Artist, then he can only consider himself unlucky.
Without a shield for defense, a Martial Artist was at a severe disadvantage against a Spirit Reader, because he had to face attacks from every direction and found it difficult to counterattack effectively.
Several kilometers away, Rolando wore black battle armor and stood atop a silver-white greatsword, his face cold.
This newcomer really didn't adjust the Battle Space configuration. If he's a Martial Artist, then don't blame me!
He looked at Li Qi several kilometers away. The wager is 50 points, so don't blame me for using a little trick!
As an old trainee, Rolando knew that the Battle Space settings for newcomers who had just entered Stellar Training Camp were the default configuration, and the default configuration was highly unfriendly to Martial Artists.
And he was a Spirit Reader. He held an advantage in a Battle Space with the default configuration. Since the points at stake in this wager were considerable, he did not mention it in order to play it safe.
Whoosh!
A violent gust swept past, filling the sky with sand and dust.
Whoosh!
Amid a faint tearing sound, a silver-white streak shot through the sandstorm toward Rolando!
A Mental Force Weapon! This newcomer is a Spirit Reader!
Seeing the silver-white streak shooting toward him, Rolando understood immediately. With a thought, he moved.
Clang!
More than twenty blades detached from the silver-white greatsword beneath his feet, rapidly forming a small silver-white sword in the air.
With a whoosh, the small silver-white sword became a streak of light and intercepted the incoming silver-white streak.
Ding!
The two silver-white streaks collided, producing a crisp metallic clang.
"Sky-Breaking Sword!"
Rolando frowned slightly. "This newcomer is also using the Cloud Sky Sword. If I want a quick victory, I'll have to fight at close range."
The Cloud Sky Sword was a first-order mid-grade Mental Force Weapon. It was not difficult to use and could separate or combine, making it suitable for many situations. It was very popular in Stellar Training Camp.
Since both used the same kind of Mental Force Weapon, it would be difficult to determine a victor quickly unless their strength differed greatly.
"Hm!"
Rolando's eyes widened, his expression incredulous. "How dare this newcomer?"
Amid the boundless yellow sand, a black figure surrounded by several silver-white streaks actually charged directly at him!
"He's a newcomer! And a Spirit Reader! How does he dare charge in and fight me at close range!"
Anger surged from Rolando's heart as he flew into a rage. Is he looking down on me? I've been through life-and-death battles! What gives you, a newcomer, the right to fight me at close range!
He opened his right hand. With a whoosh, a Sky-Breaking Sword flew into his grasp.
Gripping the Sky-Breaking Sword, he flew toward the charging Li Qi, several silver-white streaks following at his side.
The silver-white streaks formed by the Sky-Breaking Swords launched later yet arrived first, colliding with the opposing silver-white streaks. For a moment, ringing clangs sounded without end!
While the Sky-Breaking Swords on both sides were entangled, Rolando wielded his Sky-Breaking Sword and charged at Li Qi!
He was incredibly fast!
Die!
Rolando roared inwardly.
Suddenly, a brilliant green light filled his vision, enveloping him in an instant!
Then he felt his body meet tremendous resistance, as if bound by something invisible. His speed dropped sharply!
Rolando was horrified. "What!"
Whoosh!
A silver-white streak darted through the green light, trailing a long tail like a meteor in the night sky!
"This is a domain!"
Rolando was shocked. "He's a Planetary Level Eighth-Order newcomer! How can he possibly have a domain!"
The silver-white streak expanded in his vision, but bound by the invisible force, he was powerless to stop it.
Pfft!
The silver-white light formed by the Sky-Breaking Sword pierced through his head, and his body, having lost its Planetary Level force field, fell downward.
On the other side, with their owner dead, the Sky-Breaking Swords that had been locked in combat broke apart, scattering into individual blades that fell from the sky.
Li Qi floated in the air, his green domain enveloping the surrounding space as though he were the master of that entire area.
Looking down at Rolando's corpse falling below, Li Qi was somewhat puzzled. "Why would a Spirit Reader like you fight me at close range?"
Amid the light, Rolando was teleported out of the Battle Space and returned to the previous plaza.
A light screen popped up, showing that he had lost the wager and been deducted 50 points.
"I lost!"
Rolando stood there blankly. "He's actually a Planetary Level domain genius!"
He could hardly believe it was real. He had actually encountered a Planetary Level domain genius!
"The battle ended so quickly. Looks like that newcomer isn't very strong."
"Come on! Let's go take a look. I wonder how many points Rolando won."
The two trainees in the distance flew over as they talked...
