"What's wrong?"

Seeing Cheng Yiyi's expression change drastically, everyone was somewhat puzzled.

"Before the apocalypse descended, I served in the Naval Women's Marine Corps in a coastal region..."

Cheng Yiyi explained with a complicated expression.

"The reason I ended up at Long River Base was because we encountered many terrifying mutated marine creatures. We called those things sea beasts. We were nearly wiped out by them, and only a scattered few escaped..."

"By current standards, those sea beasts were likely Tier 3 or even Tier 4! And that was at the beginning of the apocalypse... I don't dare imagine how strong they are now..."

"So, the freshwater in the fissure has turned into seawater. I have reason to suspect that the fissure is connected to the ocean. If that's true, those terrifying sea beasts may appear in the fissure and threaten humans inland!"

Everyone was startled upon hearing Cheng Yiyi's words.

At the start of the apocalypse, when zombies on land were generally only Tier 1 and a small number had reached Tier 2, those sea beasts had already reached Tier 3 or even Tier 4. With such an evolution rate, how powerful must those marine creatures be? What would human survivors do if these sea beasts came inland? And there was a fissure near Long River Base—wouldn't that threaten the base's safety?

But someone soon thought of an important question.

"Regiment Commander Cheng said they're sea beasts. In that case, wouldn't we be safe as long as we stay away from the fissure?"

"But we need to collect water! Given the current high temperatures, the water in our base definitely won't be enough. We need to store a large amount of water. Unless we can find another place to draw water, we'll probably still have to go to the
