A Bunch of Scum

"Honey, do you think we can survive...?"

Inside a shop in Furniture City, a frail man in a filthy blue suit huddled in the corner, trembling all over. Beside him lay a zombie with a steel pipe driven through its head.

Han Rui, dressed in a police uniform, pulled the steel pipe from the zombie's head. She panted heavily a few times, then resisted the temptation and put away the crystal core the zombie had dropped before collapsing onto the floor.

When Sun Wei Guang saw the crystal core appear, he subconsciously swallowed. His eyes remained fixed on it until Han Rui put it away, only then shifting his gaze.

Han Rui looked at her husband and sighed inwardly, though she still encouraged him aloud. "Don't worry, honey. We'll definitely survive! Just hang in there!"

"B-But those zombies are too terrifying! We never should have left..."

Remembering how he had just been ambushed by a zombie, Sun Wei Guang's teeth still chattered.

"Our food was already gone. If we hadn't left, we'd only have starved to death."
