Ancestor Fan recalled, "My guess is that they were a Technology Civilization. Perhaps they were a Level 11 Technology Civilization, or even higher—like the legendary Level 12 Technology Civilization."

Liu Di's thoughts churned. Even within the Cosmic Grid, there was not the slightest trace of a civilization at that level.
He had once observed the Cosmic Grid. A Level 8 civilization capable of destroying stars already seemed to be a ceiling-level existence.

What kind of technological level would that be?
Transcending causality, transcending space?
The undisputed supreme ruler of the entire universe?
"Many cosmic lifeforms have imagined that Parallel Universes exist."
"But I'm telling you, they do not."
Ancestor Fan said slowly, "The universe is an infinitely expanding 'bubble,' with no parallel counterpart. But like a soap bubble, it can split off smaller bubbles at its edges. Those are actually spatial branches of the universe, known as sub-universes."
"My people of that era and I were born in Sub-Universe 01. We called ourselves the Rusow Civilization. We too were naturally Three-Dimensional Beings, and our sub-universe homeland spanned 1.2 million light-years."
"Our species evolved within it, and our technology evolved for 900 million years, until we reached a Level 10 Technology Civilization!"
Liu Di was startled.
But Ancestor Fan continued slowly, "At that time, we discovered the truth of the sub-universe and learned that there was an even broader primary universe. With hearts full of exploration, we prepared to venture into the primary universe."
"But then..."
Ancestor Fan's voice sank. "The Cosmic Heavenly Court appeared. They came from the primary universe, and they left behind only one message: stop our exploration."
