"Big Brother!"
"I see your hands are dirty too!"
"I'll wipe them for you!"
Liu Di retreated again and again while Zhang Weiguo crawled forward on his knees.
"Professor Zhang, don't do this. I promise you. If I dig up any ginseng, I'll share some with you!"
"Alright, Big Brother!"
The short-haired girl beside them helplessly glanced at the White Robe Immortal and muttered under her breath, "No backbone."
Just as Liu Di gathered himself, ready to head into the mountains in one push.
A melodious tolling of bells suddenly echoed between heaven and earth.
Dong.
Dong.
Dong.
The source of the sound could not be found, yet it reverberated throughout the entire T-one District without missing a corner.
Zhang Weiguo's expression changed. He immediately began counting on his fingers, as if calculating something.
He suddenly said, "Why is today's curfew several hours earlier than usual?!"
Liu Di frowned. "Curfew? What does that mean?"
Zhang Weiguo stood up and dusted himself off. "It's a rule in the T-one District. Once the sun sets and night falls, all residents must stay indoors. If they go out, they'll die without a whole corpse left!"
Liu Di looked up at the sky.
Aside from the eight enormous shadows floating overhead, the sky was clear and blue.
Liu Di was puzzled.
There was not even a sun here. Where would a sunset come from?
Yet in the next instant, the world suddenly dimmed slightly.
It was as though someone had turned down the brightness of a controllable lamp that illuminated the entire world.
"We can't stay here long."
Looking somewhat nervous, Zhang Weiguo glanced at Liu Di and said with a flattering smile, "Big Brother! You've only just arrived, so you probably don't have anywhere to stay. I'll arrange a comfortable place for you.
