The Asura God had not been looking directly into Lin Yu's eyes. He had only caught a glimpse from the corner of his eye and noticed that something seemed to have changed within them. Then, as if courting death, he met Lin Yu's gaze.
The instant their eyes met, he saw the corners of Lin Yu's lips curl slightly upward. Then his consciousness felt as though it were being violently stirred, and intense pain erupted from his mind. A moment later, he lost consciousness.
When he opened his eyes again, there was a dazed look in them. The brilliance that had once always filled his gaze was gone.
"Master!"
A completely emotionless voice came from the Asura God's mouth.
"Asura?"
The Asura God stood behind the God of Destruction, so the God of Destruction did not know what state he was in. But when he heard the word "master" come from Asura's mouth, an extremely unsettling thought surfaced in his heart.
"Not bad. This will do."
Lin Yu's voice drifted into the God of Destruction's ears. He froze. Now he understood that the thought in his heart had been correct—the Asura God had been controlled. What frightened him most was that he still had no idea how the Asura God had been controlled. Only a few breaths had passed.
Rustle, rustle, rustle.
Lin Yu was walking toward the God of Destruction. The rustling footsteps made his heart pound with fear. He could not grasp even the slightest bit of information. If he could not find a way to counter that form of control, he could already imagine what would happen to him. The next second, he would become Lin Yu's puppet.
So he subconsciously closed his eyes. Now, he could only wait for the same fate as the Asura God.
