The next day
The sun had just risen over the horizon when Lin Yu woke up. Both girls were still fast asleep.
Xiao Xun'er lay quietly in Lin Yu's arms, strands of deep-blue hair draped across her face. Lin Yu reached out and brushed the hair aside, then gently caressed her jade-white cheek.
Xiao Xun'er's eyes twitched as though she were about to open them. Lin Yu quickly withdrew his hand, afraid that his movements would wake her.
Looking at Xiao Xun'er's sleeping face in his arms, the corners of Lin Yu's lips rose slightly, his eyes filled with tenderness. This kind of life really was enough to make one content.
"Hiss hiss~" Lin Yu's right hand trembled. Xiao Cai crawled up along his arm and onto Xiao Xun'er's back, stopping on her arm. She raised her snake body and looked blankly at Lin Yu.
Xiao Xun'er seemed to sense something and shifted her body slightly. Xiao Cai, who had been on her shoulder, was tossed down by the movement and landed right between their chests.
Lin Yu was speechless. If Xiao Cai kept squirming around like this, Xiao Xun'er would definitely be awakened. It was still early, and Lin Yu wanted her to sleep a while longer!
