Longinus knew very well that playing two identities by himself was not a long-term solution. The best way to solve this problem was still to rely on the power of Devil Fruits.
Of course, he would not eat a Devil Fruit himself. Once his ability was exposed, it would only arouse more suspicion. Devil Fruit Items were different, however. As long as he kept them carefully hidden, who could know how much equipment he had stashed away?
The only problem was that the Devil Fruit Items could not come from Vegapunk.
Once Vegapunk developed Devil Fruit Item Technology, Longinus would most likely be able to request a custom-made piece of equipment given his status at that time. But doing so would undoubtedly expose his ambitions completely.
With Vegapunk ruled out, the only people in this world who might be capable of developing Devil Fruit Item Technology were Vinsmoke Judge and M. Caesar Clown, both of whom were involved in Bloodline Factor research.
Caesar was still a member of the Marine Headquarters Science Unit, so he was naturally ruled out as well. Thus, it was hardly surprising that Judge had caught Longinus's attention.
Unfortunately, developing Devil Fruit Item Technology cannot be done overnight. Until Judge completes his research, I can only keep Apophis out of the public eye as much as possible! Standing on the returning warship and facing the sea breeze, Longinus thought to himself.
