The burning sky and collapsing earth, scenes that seemed like the end of the world, kept replaying at the heart of the battlefield.
Though he was being suppressed by Whitebeard, Akainu had no intention of retreating. His eyes were resolute and fierce, as if he intended to keep Whitebeard here at any cost.
"Not a bad look in your eyes, but you can't stop me!" Whitebeard said in a deep voice.
"Save your boasting, Whitebeard. You won't take a single step past here!" Akainu said coldly, firing a Hell Hound at him.
"Hmph! Then you'd better..." Whitebeard swung his Naginata and cleaved through the magma. Just as he was about to make a threat, his gaze suddenly drifted skyward. "That presence is..."
Above the sea, Blackbeard's expression shifted unpredictably. Suddenly, his body shuddered, as though some ancient beast had fixed its gaze upon him. Seeming to realize something, he cried out in panic, "Not good! Run!"
Lafitte reacted quickly, beating his wings as he flew into the distance. But he was still one step too slow. A savage, violent shockwave came roaring toward him.
"Teach, you bastard, go die!"
Whitebeard's furious punch shattered the sky itself. A visible pillar of light nearly pierced through both heaven and sea.
Lafitte, carrying two people, had no time to evade. Half his body was grazed by the pillar of light, then directly vaporized into nothingness.
Then Shiryu, Blackbeard, and half of Lafitte's corpse fell from the sky.
"So that's Blackbeard? Other than being uglier, darker, and fatter, he doesn't seem all that special!"
"Don't underestimate him. Anyone who dared scheme against Whitebeard couldn't be an ordinary man!"
"What will Whitebeard do? Keep moving forward, or execute him personally? This is really something to look forward to!"
Everyone on the battlefield
