Duke Gould Lanlos's Residence, Study
Gould stared at the exquisite oil painting before him, his fingers tracing across the canvas as he continuously voiced his admiration. Yet his eyes kept darting toward the corridor, and as time passed, he looked in that direction more and more frequently. The joy and anticipation on his face gradually faded, replaced by anger.
"That lowly marmot Slaik actually dared to toy with the great Duke Gould. Just wait and see how I deal with him tomorrow, hmph!"
"I'm afraid you'll never get another chance to deal with him, Your Grace! Because he has already vanished from this wonderful world forever!"
Gould spun around sharply and saw two figures in black robes standing behind him. One was admiring the oil painting on his desk, while the other continuously surveyed the furnishings in the room.
"Your Grace, there's no need to try calling for the guards outside, nor should you think about escaping. I've placed a barrier around the entire study. No one outside can hear anything that happens here!"
Gould's heart jolted at those words. It was as though the other party could see straight through him and knew every one of his intentions. As he stood there in shock, the black-robed figure admiring the painting slowly pulled back his hood, revealing a pair of beautiful silver eyes. Long silver hair then spilled over his shoulders. After that, the silver-haired youth sat down where he had been standing and said sharply, "Your Grace, it's time we sat down over a cup of tea and discussed how you ordered Slaik to kidnap my sister!"
"What Slaik? Who is Slaik? I don't know him!"
"Is that so? Then this is much easier! Lindel, kill this fellow who has seen my face. Then set the place on fire.
