To form a Retainer Contract, a contract document was needed as a medium.
Just as when Riezel had formed a Retainer Contract with Liz, both parties intending to form the contract wrote down their respective terms on the contract document. When the terms from both sides were equal, the contract document would react and acknowledge the contract's viability.
Back then, Liz had set harsh terms on behalf of the Ginas Empire's royal family. Once the contract took effect, she became Riezel's retainer for life.
If the terms were not particularly harsh, the degree to which the contract had to be fulfilled would be much lower. In that case, one only needed to serve as a retainer for a certain period. Once that time expired, the contract would be complete, and both parties would regain their freedom.
Now that Riezel wanted to form Retainer Contracts with Merlot, Naisha, and Belti, he needed three contract documents.
Naturally, Riezel did not have such things.
He had never intended to gather retainers everywhere, so there was no reason for him to carry contract documents around.
Likewise, the girls had no contract documents on them either. Even if they had, their weapons, equipment, and items had all been dissolved earlier, so they could not possibly have kept them now.
Fortunately, while Riezel and the others had no contract documents, the library in the Pocket Dimension inside the Sambian Tree held quite a number of them. Moreover, these contract documents were of an extremely high grade, far superior to the one Riezel had used when forming a Retainer Contract with Liz.
The higher the grade of a contract document, the more forcefully the contract would be enforced and the stronger it would be maintained. At that point, abolishing it through external means would not be easy.
