Isn't It Good to Have Someone Carry You?

If you asked an adventurer what kind of changes they most hoped to see in their Ability Value, there was probably only one answer.

That was Level Up.

It was not gaining magic that could be called a supernatural miracle, nor obtaining skills with strange effects, much less greatly improving their Basic Abilities. It was the evolution of mind and body, the rise in level.

Especially for novice Lv.1 adventurers, Level Up was undoubtedly what they looked forward to most.

Because only from that step onward could they be considered to have embarked upon the path beyond the ordinary.

God's Blessing existed as a growth catalyst, an accelerator for becoming stronger.

In other words, it did not allow those who could not grow stronger to break through their limits. Rather, it accelerated the growth of those who could continue becoming stronger in the first place.

That was precisely why whether a person could grow depended on whether they possessed the potential for growth.

If they had the potential to grow, then God's Blessing could accelerate that process, fostering growth through the accumulation of Experience Points and becoming nourishment for it.

If they lacked the potential for growth, then unfortunately, even if they received God's Blessing, they would be unable to grow.

That was also the fundamental reason why those capable of training their Basic Abilities to Stage S were as rare as phoenix feathers, while even those who reached Stage A or Stage B were few and far between.

Their potential had been exhausted, and they could no longer grow. In that case, no matter how many Experience Points they accumulated, they could not raise their proficiency by even a single point.

With that in mind, although there were differences in strength among Lv.1s, those at this level still belonged to the category of "mortals."

They could accumulate Experience Points and grow to the limits of the human body, the limits of their race, but they still could not truly transcend the ordinary and possess inhuman strength.

Humans in particular, without any racial advantages, could at most smash a boulder even if they trained to the limits of the human body. Could they split apart a mountain?

They could not.

The human body ultimately had limits. No matter how much one grew, one would not become inhuman.

But once one had undergone a Level Up, things were different.

"Mind and Body Evolution," as the words implied, was a genuine transcendence beyond the ordinary, an official step into the realm of the inhuman.

Whether human or demi-human, even if they had exhausted their potential at Lv.1, trained to the limits of the human body, and could not improve even the slightest bit further, once they successfully leveled up, they would undergo a transformation that could be called "Mind and Body Evolution."

This transformation was not merely a matter of becoming stronger. It also meant that one's own "vessel" became larger and broader.

After leveling up, one would ascend to another level. New potential and new possibilities would emerge, allowing someone who had reached a bottleneck and could no longer improve to have another chance to grow and become stronger.

That was Level Up.

Loki had said that leveling up meant drawing closer to their level—the level of Gods.

The higher the level, the more times one ascended, and the more complete one's Mind and Body Evolution became, the closer one would come to one's parents—the Gods.

Therefore, the phenomenon of leveling up could also be seen as becoming a God step by step.

Who would not desire to Level Up, then?

But levels could not be raised casually.

"Generally speaking, there are two conditions for leveling up."

Loki swayed the wine bottle in her hand as she spoke in an apparently offhand manner.

"One is raising one of your Basic Abilities to the sixth stage, Stage D."

"The other is obtaining Experience Points of a higher grade than usual and accomplishing Great Achievements."

The first condition provided a sufficient foundation for leveling up.

By the same logic, one could not bring about Mind and Body Evolution or individual ascension without a certain foundation.

The second condition provided sufficient nourishment for leveling up and evolution.

Just as ordinary Experience Points could serve as nourishment to promote the growth of Basic Abilities and even awaken magic and skills, leveling up likewise required sufficient Experience Points.

Only, ordinary Experience Points were no longer enough at this point. As Loki had said, they had to be High-grade Experience Points.

These High-grade Experience Points were what Loki called Great Achievements.

In other words, defeating an opponent stronger than oneself.

In other words, undertaking an adventure where one narrowly escaped death.

In other words, launching an unforgettable challenge.

Once such deeds were accomplished, the person who had received Falna would obtain Experience Points of a higher grade than usual and achieve what were known as Great Achievements.

And when enough Great Achievements had been accumulated, Mind and Body Evolution would be triggered. People could then advance to a higher realm and step into a higher domain.

That was Level Up.

"Defeating an opponent stronger than yourself, huh?"

The corners of Riezel's lips curled upward before he realized it.

Seeing Riezel like that, Loki sobered up immediately.

"Good grief, not only did that fail to scare you, it actually got you excited?" Loki complained. "Normally, the moment someone hears they have to defeat an opponent stronger than themselves, wouldn't they back down?"

"But you? Forget backing down—the horn to start the battle is practically about to be blown because you can't wait."

Wasn't that true?

Facing an opponent stronger than oneself, one would normally have no chance of winning, right?

And having no chance of winning meant there was a high chance of dying.

Who would not shrink back upon hearing that such conditions were necessary for leveling up?

Only Riezel had actually smiled.

"It's not that bad." Riezel quickly suppressed the smile he could not control. "Even if your opponent is stronger, there have always been examples of the weak defeating the strong. There are plenty of them, in fact. Otherwise, there wouldn't be so many Upper Class Adventurers in this world."

Indeed, although the requirements for leveling up were harsh, there were still quite a few people who ultimately achieved it.

Why?

Because if one was weaker than their opponent, they could make up for it with skill, turn the situation around with tactics, or even employ countless schemes and tricks.

More directly, wasn't magic a miraculous trump card?

If one truly encountered an opponent stronger than oneself, then by risking one's life to cast an Area Annihilation Magic with an Ultra-long incantation and unleashing power capable of scorching the heavens and boiling the seas, could they not burn that stronger opponent to death in a single strike?

Those were all possibilities for the weak to defeat the strong.

Of course, there was an even simpler method.

"I'd suggest finding someone to form a party with." Loki advised. "When facing a stronger enemy, challenge them as a team and gather the strength of multiple people to overcome them. That's the shortcut to obtaining High-grade Experience Points and accomplishing Great Achievements."

In short, if you could not win a One-on-One Battle, then gang up on them.

Challenging stronger opponents in that way could also earn Great Achievements.

However, in that case, the Experience Points would be distributed among everyone on the same team. It was possible that one would not accumulate enough High-grade Experience Points to level up in one go.

But if once was not enough, then they could just do it a few more times.

That was why, despite the harsh conditions for accomplishing Great Achievements, quite a few people in this world could still successfully Level Up.

Challenging enemies as a team was both safe and reliable.

"Fortunately, there are plenty of members in this familia, and you have many high-level seniors. They can take you along and help you level up safely." Loki looked at Riezel. "If you need anything, just tell me directly."

The meaning behind those words was already obvious. Loki was practically telling Riezel outright that if he needed it, she would arrange teammates to carry him.

That was also one of the benefits of joining a large familia. There were people to guide you, care for you, teach you, and protect you. There was no need to worry about being unable to improve; one only needed to worry about whether one had enough potential.

In a weak familia, even finding companions to form a party with would be a major problem.

From that perspective, Riezel's choice to join the Loki Familia had undoubtedly been a very wise one.

Otherwise, why did so many people hope to join large familias?

Wasn't it because the connections, resources, and everything else were simply too abundant?

A party, huh...

Riezel frowned unconsciously, leaving Loki speechless.

"Isn't it good to have someone carry you? There's definitely something wrong with you, kid!" At this rate, Riezel would definitely have no problem raising all his Basic Abilities to Stage A. There was even a possibility that he could reach the highest Stage S.

And would the strength gained after leveling up be the same for someone who leveled up at Stage S and someone who leveled up at the bare-minimum Stage D?

Even if both leveled up and gained the same increase in strength, the person with higher Ability Values at the previous level would naturally be stronger.

"I'm really looking forward to seeing whether you can accomplish the miracle of Stage S in every Ability Value."

Loki laughed heartily.

"Stage S in every Ability Value?"

Riezel murmured softly.

That truly would be a miracle.

At least, as far as Riezel knew, even in the original work, only one person had come close to that achievement.

That legendary figure, hailed as Orario's ultimate weapon and possessing the astonishing level of Lv.7, had four Ability Values that had reached Stage S. They had been only one category away from achieving Stage S in every Ability Value.

Apart from that person, no second individual in the original work possessed such terrifying potential.

Of course, the original protagonist was excluded.

That person had not merely reached Stage S in every Ability Value. They had even reached a realm beyond that, one which even the Gods had never heard of or seen before.

Riezel looked at the parchment in his hand, his gaze flickering.

Compared to that person, could he also touch upon that possibility which made even the Gods rejoice?

"I really am looking forward to it."
