A Miracle in Just Over a Month

Labyrinth City Orario, Tower of Babel.

At the top floor of the Chalk Giant Tower, which stood like a lid sealing the Dungeon entrance, a massive figure pushed open the door to an extravagantly furnished suite, luxurious and dazzling within, with a view overlooking the entire vast city.

It was a towering Beastman over two meters tall, with short reddish-brown hair, boar ears, and a rock-like muscular body.

The Beastman entered the high-class suite, one of the few places he was permitted to enter freely, and walked to the deepest part of the room, before a rectangular observation window that occupied an entire wall.

There stood a goddess of excessive beauty, wrapped in a black gauze nightgown. Her figure was slender yet voluptuous, and her silver hair nearly reached her waist.

"Lady Freya."

The Beastman stopped a short distance before the goddess and bowed to her beautiful figure like a devout believer before his faith.

"Ottar?"

Without turning around, the goddess merely swirled the wine in her glass and responded.

Her voice was extraordinarily sweet, like heavenly nectar and earthly wine. Hearing even a little of it made one want to lose oneself in intoxication.

"What is it? Is something the matter?"

The goddess's sweet voice made the Beastman—clearly a boar-man named Ottar by the goddess—even more respectful.

"There is something I wish to report." Ottar spoke in a deep voice. "It concerns a newcomer in the Loki Familia."

Only then did the goddess draw some of her attention away from the scenery beyond the window.

"Loki?" The goddess swirled the wine in her hand, as though recalling something or savoring something, and said casually, "I seem to have heard that her Familia recently gained a very talented newcomer."

"Yes." Ottar replied evenly, "I believe that newcomer deserves a certain degree of attention, which is why I came to report this."

"Oh?" The goddess was immediately intrigued. With a smile, she said, "A child worthy of such words from you has certainly piqued my interest."

As she spoke, the goddess named Freya turned around.

The instant she did, it was as though all the light in the world had gathered upon her, dimming everything around her.

That was only natural.

Because Goddess Freya was simply too beautiful.

As gods from the heavens, the gods generally possessed near-perfect appearances. Aside from those who deliberately took the forms of elderly people or children, almost every god possessed a face beautiful enough to bring down nations.

Yet even among those universally perfect gods, Goddess Freya's beauty stood head and shoulders above all others, unmatched by anyone.

There were Gods of Fire, Gods of Water, Gods of War, Gods of Martial Arts—gods who governed every conceivable concept and stood unrivaled in countless fields.

Among all those gods, the concept governed by Goddess Freya was—"beauty."

She was a true Goddess of Beauty.

"Tell me." Goddess Freya gazed at the boar-man Ottar, her strongest and most loyal subordinate, with eyes as beautiful as autumn waters. "What sort of person could draw your attention?"

At that, Ottar spoke in his usual calm, steady voice.

"His name is Riezel Brihaut. He is a human newcomer who joined the Loki Familia just over a month ago. He is seventeen this year, yet he has caused several sensations in Orario and gained considerable fame."

A profound gleam appeared in Ottar's eyes.

"His growth rate is astonishing. In just over a month, he went from an ordinary person who had never received Falna to repeatedly accomplishing Great Achievements, rising from a Lv.1 Lower Class Adventurer to a Lv.4 Second Class Adventurer. Even the Guild was alarmed and sent people to Twilight Manor several times to verify it."

Even Goddess Freya was taken aback by Ottar's words.

"He rose from Lv.1 to Lv.4 in just over a month?"

If Freya had not known that Ottar would never joke with her, she would have assumed that her subordinate was deliberately toying with her.

Even so, Freya still looked half-convinced.

"Does such a child truly exist in the Lower World?"

Freya was doubtful.

It could not be helped.

After all, even the Sword Princess, who held the historical record for the fastest rise to Lv.2, had needed a full year to accomplish it, becoming the most talented person acknowledged by mortals and gods alike.

Yet all of it was true.

"Fifty-two days ago, Riezel Brihaut officially joined the Loki Familia and received Falna."

"Forty-five days ago, Riezel Brihaut defeated the Crocodile Dragon that had become an Abnormal Situation on the 6th Floor and officially Level Up to Lv.2."

"Thirty days ago, while exploring the Middle Floors on the 16th Floor with his only teammate, Riezel Brihaut suddenly encountered a Monster Feast. After hours of desperate battle, he successfully slew every monster and officially Level Up to Lv.3."

"And today, Riezel Brihaut was confirmed to have gone alone to the 17th Floor, awakened the Floor Master Goliath by himself, and ultimately defeated it, officially Level Up to Lv.4."

Ottar listed that series of Great Achievements as though reciting familiar facts, his voice remaining deep.

"Every one of these deeds has been certified and recognized by the Guild, which has publicly announced them."

At this point, Goddess Freya fell silent.

That was because every Great Achievement Ottar had described was enough to shock the world.

There was no need to mention the Abnormal Situation that had appeared on the 6th Floor forty-five days ago. Following the Guild's investigation, the Crocodile Dragon that had emerged then was confirmed to be a Dragon species monster classified as Lv.2. Defeating such a monster at Lv.1 was absolutely astonishing.

Likewise, a Monster Feast was also an Abnormal Situation, a phenomenon commonly witnessed only from the 10th Floor onward.

Normally, the number of monsters appearing on each floor of the Dungeon was fixed.

Their numbers would not increase beyond a certain limit. Whenever they decreased, new monsters would break through the Dungeon walls and be born. The interval before the next monster appeared varied by floor, but at most it was only about a day.

But a Monster Feast was different.

It was a phenomenon in which a massive number of monsters were born in the same area all at once.

Once it occurred, a place that had been empty a second earlier would be crammed with monsters in an instant, surrounding adventurers with a huge number of enemies and plunging them into a hopeless situation.

That hopeless situation had occurred in the Middle Floors, where monsters classified as Lv.2 were common. Riezel, who had also only been Lv.2 at the time, had actually fought to the end with his sole teammate and successfully slain every Lv.2-classified monster. It could practically be called a miracle.

As for a Floor Master, it was an existence even more terrifying than an Abnormal Situation.

Among monsters that could be born in as little as a day, some required a certain cycle before they could appear.

Each of these monsters took weeks or even months to appear, and they only emerged on specific floors. Not only did they possess bodies far larger than Large Species, earning them the designation of Super Large Species, but they also possessed strength that no other monster on the same floor could rival. Other monsters could only look on from afar, and adventurers feared them greatly.

The Guild's official name for such monsters was—"Labyrinth King."

Adventurers, meanwhile, called them—"Floor Masters."

Their strength was said to be the estimated level of their floor plus two.

In other words, if the strongest monsters on the floor where it appeared were classified as Lv.1, then it would possess Lv.3 strength. If the other monsters were classified as Lv.2, then it would possess Lv.4 strength.

These were monsters among monsters, requiring large adventurer parties to challenge and conquer them. In gaming terms, they were Bosses.

The first Boss-class monster to appear in the Dungeon, the first Floor Master, resided on the 17th Floor: the Super Large Species giant known as Goliath.

Although Goliath was a Floor Master classified as Lv.4, its enormous body made it a giant specialized entirely in "Endurance."

In other words, purely in terms of "Endurance," this Floor Master could rival a Lv.5.

For a mere Lv.3 adventurer to defeat such a monster alone and not Level Up was impossible.

All these deeds had created a monstrous newcomer who shook Orario, alarmed even the Guild, and forced it to send people to the Loki Familia for confirmation.

"Riezel Brihaut?"

Goddess Freya murmured the name, an indescribable gleam rising in her eyes.

"Loki is as lucky as ever, to have found such a child. I wonder what kind of 'radiance' this child possesses?"

Freya's murmur did not sway the boar-man Ottar.

Ottar merely reported the facts and asked a question.

"How should we respond to this situation, Lady Freya?"

That was why Ottar had come.

After all, the Freya Familia was one of the strongest Familias in Labyrinth City Orario. Alongside the Loki Familia, it was known to the world as one of Orario's Twin Kings.

Therefore, the Loki Familia was both the Freya Familia's competitor and a powerful enemy it would not be surprising to clash with at any time.

That was why Ottar had come to report to Freya the moment he received the news.

Freya raised a slender finger and tapped her cheek, her expression thoughtful.

After a while, Freya spoke.

"Have someone keep a close eye on this child. Report any news to me immediately."

A ravishing smile suddenly appeared on Freya's peerlessly beautiful face.

"As for the child himself, I will find an opportunity to appraise him personally."
