I Have a Question for You

Before the gates of Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu High School, the participants from the two Jujutsu High schools officially met, and tension filled the space between them.

Zenin Maki and Zenin Mai, the pair of sisters, were the first to face off. Their gazes collided—one expressionless, impossible to read, the other smiling broadly with mockery in her eyes.

"A robot?" Panda noticed the robot across from him, dressed in a Jujutsu High uniform, with its exposed head and skin entirely mechanical and wooden in texture. Tilting his head, he asked, "Is it a Cursed Corpse like me?"

The robot across from him reacted visibly to those words.

"My name is Mechamaru." The other replied coldly to Panda, "Don't lump me together with you."

The being calling himself Mechamaru actually sounded far more like a Cursed Corpse than Panda did.

His voice sounded as though it were coming through a radio, cold and utterly unlike that of a living creature.

Yet Mechamaru was clearly repulsed by Panda's claim. One could faintly sense his dislike for the term "Cursed Corpse."

"Mechamaru may be a Cursed Corpse, but he's nothing like you, Panda."

The speaker was one of the two girls standing beside Mechamaru.

She was very small, with blonde hair, blue eyes, and two broom-shaped pigtails sticking straight up. She also held a broom in her hand, making her look like a foreign Miko.

"Huh?" Kugisaki Nobara said in surprise. "Does Kyoto High accept middle schoolers too?"

"Who are you calling a middle schooler?!" The blonde girl immediately exploded. "My name is Nishinomiya Momo! I'm a third-year student at Kyoto Metropolitan Jujutsu High School! Your senior! You rude little brat!"

Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu High School had no third-years participating this year. Kyoto Metropolitan Jujutsu High School could not possibly have been unaware of
