When the anomaly occurred, the first to notice it was naturally Gojo Satoru.

"A veil?"

Gojo Satoru rose to his feet, staring at the darkness spreading over Tokyo Jujutsu High and muttering under his breath.

The others stood as well, seeing the darkness descend from above and spread outward like a swamp—or black mud.

"Who cast a veil inside Jujutsu High?"

"They cast a veil within Jujutsu High's barrier?"

"There aren't many Curse Users capable of that."

"Where's the target? Could it be the school buildings?"

"No, it's not us."

Everyone began discussing it at once. Some wore grave expressions, clearly having noticed something amiss.

A veil was a type of barrier, and one of the most commonly used barriers.

It had many uses. Depending on the caster's abilities and requirements, it could produce different effects.

The most basic veil could conceal a certain area, preventing ordinary people from seeing what happened inside the barrier.

Some specially constructed veils could even add effects that ordinary barriers lacked, such as isolating specific groups of people or allowing only certain individuals to enter and leave. They were highly flexible and varied.

Since veils were a form of Barrier Techniques, and Barrier Techniques were jujutsu that could be activated by constructing a technique from scratch within one's body using cursed energy, even those without an Innate Technique could learn and use them. As a result, many Curse Users learned to cast veils to assist with their missions.

The darkness that had appeared near Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu High School was precisely such a veil.

More accurately, however, the veil had not descended upon Jujutsu High itself. It had descended over the forest.

Seeing this, how could the Curse Users not know the veil's target?
