If the World Learns from Me, It Enters the Demonic Path
There was no distinction of superiority or inferiority between Lesser Vehicle Buddhism and Greater Vehicle Buddhism. The former emphasized personal liberation, while the latter focused on delivering all living beings.
Yet in terms of cultivation, neither was necessarily superior. In fact, Lesser Vehicle Buddhism might even have had the edge.
After all, those two great masters of Lesser Vehicle Buddhism were stronger than the present-day Shakyamuni.
"Amitabha Buddha..."
Tathagata of Many Treasures shook his head slightly and said, "Lesser Vehicle Buddhism advocates using a small boat to ferry those with affinity, while the Greater Vehicle advocates using a great ship to ferry as many people with affinity as possible! Small will ultimately never compare to great! The people of the world also prefer Greater Vehicle Buddhism..."

Gu Shaoshang did not argue much with Tathagata of Many Treasures. He merely smiled and said, "Let's play."
The Conflict between Buddhism and Daoism had stretched across countless years. Old Lord Li had gone west through Hangu Pass and transformed the Hu into Buddhists. Greater Vehicle Buddhism could not be separated from Old Lord. Otherwise, the Journey to the West Great Universe would not have known only the name of Greater Vehicle Buddhism, with none of the substance of Lesser Vehicle Buddhism.
Everyone said Old Lord practiced non-action, but Gu Shaoshang did not believe Old Lord truly did nothing.
So-called non-action did not mean doing nothing. It could also mean doing everything.
Perhaps, in this Dao Struggle, Old Lord even favored Tathagata of Many Treasures.
However, none of this had much to do with Gu Shaoshang.
Stalling Tathagata of Many Treasures and the Dharma Body of the Wisdom King was already enough to repay the debt of gratitude for Daoist Wukong's past
