Night slowly receded. The red sun rose, scattering golden light that reflected brilliantly in the morning glow, falling like shattered gold as it broke through heaven and earth and illuminated the Great Wilderness.
Within the vast Great Wilderness, Gu Shaoshang strolled out with a tiny furball wriggling on his shoulder, letting out chirps.
"Ancestor of Yang of the Myriad Worlds..."
Watching the rising sun, Gu Shaoshang murmured softly to himself.
From Chen Ang, he had learned that Xi, the Human Ancestor of the Vast Continent, controlled the Great Dao of Yang. He was the source of all Yang Daos throughout the Myriad Heavens and Worlds. Wherever light shone was territory illuminated by his authority.
Even Gu Shaoshang now found such an existence impossibly distant.
"Chirp, chirp~~~"
As Gu Shaoshang walked, the furball on his shoulder suddenly trembled. It seemed to sense danger; every strand of fur stood on end as it shrieked.
"Hmm?"
Gu Shaoshang glanced at it before looking into the distance.
Beyond the distant forest lay a vast clearing, and beyond that clearing stood a small village. The village was not large and held nothing particularly extraordinary.
On that clearing, a middle-aged man with a body as sturdy as a tiger or leopard and bronzed skin was loudly saying something.
Before him stood a group of children ranging from four or five to over ten years old, several dozen in all. Facing the morning glow in the clearing before the village, they trained their bodies with rhythmic grunts.
"Yiya, yaya!"
A little fellow who looked only one or two years old, with white milk stains still around his mouth, cried out in a childish voice.
He seemed to have learned to walk only a few months ago. Staggering and swaying, he too was following along in training his
