  • Inosuke smashed notches into Tetsuana Mori’s Nichirin Blades, and Tanjiro repeatedly apologized and stopped the swordsmith from attacking him.
  • Scribe left with Tanjiro and Inosuke, saying that the expected event should be starting soon.

Scribe learned that a fast-moving Maniacal Killer was rumored to be attacking people near stations and repair yards, then boarded a train to investigate a vanished train. A Train Conductor hinted that he wanted a bribe and told Scribe the train was no longer at the repair station.

  • Scribe bought boxed lunches from Kofuku and her grandmother, who explained that frightening rumors had driven away customers and passengers.
  • Kofuku told Scribe about the Maniacal Killer, and Grandma shared that a remarkable person had once saved her from a man-eating demon.
  • Scribe asked about the vanished train, then bought all of Kofuku and her grandmother's lunches before heading to the repair station.
  • Scribe boarded a nearly empty train and told the Train Conductor he was investigating the rumors as a reporter.

Ch. 224The Speed Demon

Scribe jumped from the moving train and raced through the forest to the repair factory, hoping to learn more about the Spirited Away Train. The workers told him the train had passed inspection and would soon return to service, then pointed him toward the Foreman's workroom for possible inspection records.

  • Scribe learned from the Train Conductor that the Spirited Away Train had been sent to a high-level inspection factory, then jumped from the moving train.
  • Scribe slowed his fall by kicking off tree trunks, landed safely, and sprinted through the forest toward the repair factory.

  • Scribe caught Speed Demon, dodged his claws, and beheaded him with his Nichirin Blade.
  • Scribe returned to Kofuku and her grandmother, then left for the train that would soon depart.
  • The next day, Scribe boarded the Infinity Train with a boxed meal and settled into his seat.
  • Rengoku KyoJuro joined Scribe, accepted a boxed meal, and praised it loudly.

Ch. 228The Demon on the Train / Within the Dream (Special Double-Length Chapter)

Tanjiro and his companions boarded the train and met up with Scribe and Kyojuro, who was recruiting apprentices while preparing for a demon-related mission. After Scribe warned that a demon could appear at any time, a pale Train Conductor began checking tickets, and Scribe told Kyojuro to keep his sword ready.

  • Inosuke charged headfirst into the train, drawing the guards' attention to the group's exposed swords, so Tanjiro and the others escaped through the crowd and later boarded with tickets.
  • Inosuke tied his swords together and slung them over his shoulder, while Tanjiro told him to conceal them and Zenitsu urged him to put on clothes.
  • Tanjiro's group met Scribe and Kyojuro aboard the train, and Kyojuro offered to train Tanjiro as his apprentice.

  • Kyojuro shielded the Train Conductor and beheaded a huge demon with Flame Breathing: First Form: Unknowing Fire.
  • Kyojuro promised to look after Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke, while everyone aboard the train fell asleep.

Ch. 230Kyojuro’s Unconscious Domain / Wake Up, Tanjiro!

Scribe entered the five intruders’ dreams with them and followed Braided Hair Girl into Kyojuro’s unconscious realm as she tried to destroy his Spiritual Core. She stabbed at the core, but her expression changed, leaving the result unclear.

  • Scribe persuaded the five intruders to let him enter all their dreams by tying ropes to their wrists.
  • In Kyojuro’s dream, Scribe watched Kyojuro teach Senjuro swordsmanship before confronting Braided Hair Girl outside the Rengoku residence.
  • Braided Hair Girl revealed that her mission was to destroy the Spiritual Core, and Scribe let her proceed while warning her about the consequences.

Ch. 231The Way to Break Through

Scribe helped Tanjiro awaken from Enmu’s Blood Demon Art, then joined him in his dream as they searched for a way to escape. They found no obvious flaw in Tanjiro’s recreated home and sat down to eat with his dream family.

  • Kyojuro sensed Braided Hair Girl’s killing intent and grabbed her by the throat, stopping her attack.
  • Tanjiro saw his reflection in a river urge him to wake up, but the water dragged him under until Scribe pulled him out.
  • Scribe told Tanjiro that everyone had been affected by the enemy’s Blood Demon Art and explained he could not directly free him.
  • Scribe accompanied Tanjiro home and warned him that the family there were dream-created fakes.
  • Tanjiro searched the familiar home for a way to break free but found no flaws, and Kamado Kie returned to invite them to eat.

Ch. 232Gradually Awakening

Scribe helped Tanjiro realize he was trapped in a dream by cutting him with a small knife. Tanjiro began to awaken and ran from the false version of his family, leaving the story with him deep in the forest.

  • Scribe cut Tanjiro's cheek with a small knife, causing Tanjiro to briefly see the inside of the train.
  • Tanjiro understood that Scribe was showing him how to break through the dream and recognized that the imitation family was distorted by the enemy's Blood Demon Art.
  • Scribe left the house, and Tanjiro cut his wrist with the knife until red mist appeared and his Demon Slayer Corps uniform and Nichirin Blade returned.
  • Tanjiro told the imitations that the home was fake and rejected Kie's attempt to embrace him.
  • Nezuko and Tanjuro appeared and pleaded with Tanjiro to stay, but he apologized and ran into the forest without looking back.

Ch. 233Inosuke the Boar / Not All Dreams Are the Same

Scribe entered Tanjiro's unconscious realm with the man who had invaded his dream and led him to Tanjiro's Spiritual Core, where the man abandoned his weapon and gave up his threat. Scribe then guided Inosuke to an intruder in his dream, where Inosuke confronted a frightened young woman.

  • Scribe brought the man through Tanjiro's unconscious realm, where the kindness embodied by glowing figures and Tanjiro's Spiritual Core moved him to tears.
  • The man dropped his awl, said he wanted to stay in Tanjiro's dream forever, and Scribe left him there.
  • Inosuke commanded Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Nezuko to fight a monster resembling the Infinity Train while he watched.
  • Scribe led Inosuke through a narrowing cave to a young woman who had entered his unconscious realm.
  • The young woman recoiled at Inosuke's boar head and insisted she was not a bad person.

Ch. 234The Scissor Maniac and the Suicide Expert

Inosuke frightened a girl unconscious after mistaking her excuse for bringing food as sincere, while Zenitsu confronted a man searching his dream for its Spiritual Core. Enmu decided not to interfere after the intruders failed to destroy any cores, confident his plan would succeed.

  • Inosuke questioned a girl who had entered his space, then scared her unconscious while removing his boar mask.
  • A man searched through Zenitsu's dark dream and found the faintly glowing Spiritual Core.
  • Zenitsu confronted the man and learned that five people had entered the dreams, but focused on why he had been paired with a man.
  • Zenitsu chased the man and threatened to turn him into a girl, but the man fainted before Zenitsu could harm him.
  • Enmu noticed that no Spiritual Cores had been destroyed, chose not to send a clone, and anticipated earning Muzan's approval.

Ch. 235All Members Unsealed

Tanjiro escaped Enmu’s dream by cutting his own neck, then woke aboard the train and realized the demon had used the tickets to ensnare the others. He found Kyojuro, Zenitsu, Nezuko, and Inosuke still trapped, and turned to rescuing them.

  • Tanjiro followed a mysterious figure’s warning and realized he needed to cut his own neck to wake from the dream.
  • Tanjiro steeled himself and used his Nichirin Blade to cut his neck, dying in the dream.
  • Tanjiro woke beside Scribe and confirmed that he was alive and back in reality.
  • Tanjiro found a severed rope on his wrist and detected the demon’s scent on his ticket, understanding how the Blood Demon Art had taken hold.
  • Tanjiro saw Kyojuro, Zenitsu, Nezuko, and Inosuke still trapped in their dreams and decided to rescue them.

Ch. 236A Heart Illuminated / Admonition

Scribe freed Tanjiro and the others by burning through their ropes, then helped Tanjiro face the people who had invaded their dreams. He offered to pay for the invaders’ medical treatment, and they agreed to hear him out as he began explaining one man’s tuberculosis.

  • Scribe used his flame-wreathed Nichirin Blade to burn through the ropes instead of cutting them, avoiding the danger Tanjiro feared.
  • Tanjiro tried to wake Zenitsu, Inosuke, Nezuko, and Kyojuro, but the Braided Hair Girl attacked him with an awl before Scribe pulled him out of harm’s way.
  • The other dream invaders stood against Tanjiro, while the crying man showed remorse after being changed by the glowing figure from Tanjiro’s dream.
  • Scribe recognized that the invaders were sick and desperate, and offered to pay for their treatment.
  • The group agreed to listen to Scribe, who began describing the crying man’s mid-stage tuberculosis.

Ch. 237The Dream Returns / Anomaly

Scribe convinced the sick passengers to accept treatment in exchange for work, then led Tanjiro toward Enmu. On the train roof, Enmu prepared to use his Blood Demon Art against them.

  • Scribe promised the sick passengers treatment through his pharmaceutical company if they repaid him with work, and they agreed.
  • Scribe and Tanjiro headed for the fight while the young man and the others went to help Kyojuro and the remaining passengers.
  • Tanjiro smelled Enmu ahead, and he and Scribe climbed onto the train roof to confront him.
  • Enmu recognized Tanjiro from Muzan's description and judged Scribe to be a threat he could not assess.
  • Scribe dismissed Enmu's threats, and Enmu raised his hand to make Scribe dream of his father.

Ch. 238Awakening

Enmu’s hypnosis repeatedly put Tanjiro to sleep, but Tanjiro woke himself by realizing he was dreaming and struck off Enmu’s false head. Scribe explained that Enmu’s true body had fused with the Infinity Train, leaving Tanjiro to realize the passengers might be in danger.

  • Enmu used his Blood Demon Art to put Tanjiro to sleep, but Scribe resisted the hypnosis and caught him.
  • Tanjiro repeatedly woke from Enmu’s hypnosis by recognizing the dream and killing himself in it, then charged toward Enmu.
  • Tanjiro cut off Enmu’s head, but Scribe warned that the head and body were only puppets made of flesh.
  • Enmu revealed that his true body was beneath them and that he had fused with the Infinity Train.
  • Tanjiro realized the passengers aboard the train might be in danger.

Ch. 239Laying Out the Plan

Scribe and Tanjiro escaped Enmu’s threat and woke Kyojuro and the others by burning their tickets. Scribe then assigned the group to protect the passengers, find Enmu’s real body, and stay alive as they prepared to act.

  • Enmu threatened the passengers as hostages before melting into the train, and Scribe stopped Tanjiro from attacking his false body.
  • Scribe burned the tickets to wake the sleeping Demon Slayers, and Kyojuro was the first to stir.
  • Scribe explained Enmu’s attack and the young people’s role to Kyojuro, who forgave the Braided Hair Girl and promised to get them all out safely.
  • Nezuko and the others woke and showed the young people pity rather than hostility.
  • Scribe instructed the group to protect the passengers, assigned Tanjiro to find Enmu’s real body, and urged everyone to survive.

Ch. 240The Front of the Train / Battle for the Locomotive

Scribe and Tanjiro fought Enmu’s flesh as it spread through the train, protecting the sleeping passengers and advancing toward the demon’s weakness. At the locomotive, Tanjiro uncovered Enmu’s spinal bones beneath the floor, but Enmu’s flesh sealed the opening before he could cut them.

  • Inosuke, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Kyojuro cut and burned the flesh attacking passengers throughout the train, while Kyojuro charged toward the rear carriages.
  • Scribe and Tanjiro followed the demon’s scent toward the front of the train.
  • Tanjiro warned the Train Conductor about the demon, but Enmu’s flesh formed hands that overwhelmed Tanjiro until Scribe cut him free.
  • Scribe told Tanjiro to force Enmu out, and Tanjiro struck the floor until he exposed the demon’s spinal bones beneath it.
  • Tanjiro tried to cut the bones, but Enmu’s flesh blocked his blade and sealed the hole.
