Ch. 241Tanjiro, Bewitched / The Train Conductor Takes Action

Tanjiro struggled against Enmu’s regenerating flesh and dream-inducing eyes while Scribe intervened to keep him from falling into a deadly trap. After Scribe destroyed the eyes, Tanjiro resumed fighting the flesh hands, then suddenly spotted a new danger.

  • Tanjiro attacked Enmu’s flesh, but its wound quickly regenerated and Scribe urged him to keep looking for another opening.
  • Enmu used his Forced Unconscious Sleep Eye to trap Tanjiro in repeated dream-and-waking cycles, conditioning him to mistake reality for a dream and cut his own neck.
  • Scribe grabbed Tanjiro’s wrist and told him that he was in reality, preventing him from striking himself.
  • Scribe severed the demon eyes, and Enmu abandoned the plan as Tanjiro stopped trying to cut his neck whenever he woke.
  • Tanjiro resumed cutting apart the flesh hands and looked toward Scribe, then widened his eyes and shouted a warning.

Ch. 248A Mysterious Ability / Did You Get Something Wrong?

Scribe confronted Shinri Masato, an Upper Rank Three demon from the influential Shinri Family, and learned that Masato’s power came from a supposed sacred treasure tied to the moon. Masato transformed and attacked with a blade of light, while Scribe dismissed his boasts as beyond saving.

  • Scribe recognized the Shinri surname from a family he had encountered with Tamayo, then drew his Nichirin Blade instead of continuing to talk.
  • Shinri Masato blocked Scribe’s slash by firing a powerful beam from his palm, which Scribe mistook for a light-based ability.

Ch. 252Searching for the Dead

Scribe returned to Kyojuro and the others after Shinri Masato escaped, then explained that another demon had rescued him and warned that demons could gather in large numbers. The encounter reminded Scribe of an earlier Upper Rank Three, leaving him wondering what had happened to the demon who held that rank before Shinri Masato.

  • A human team investigated the enormous destruction at the site, but its leader learned that the mysterious reporter had vanished and berated his subordinates.
  • Scribe met Kyojuro, Tanjiro, and the others and said he had severely injured the demon but failed to kill it because another demon rescued it.

Ch. 253An Outrageous Rumor

Ch. 254The Soryu Dojo Again

Scribe left Kyojuro a letter for Ubuyashiki Kagaya and warned the Corps that demons were becoming more cunning and cooperative. As rumors about Scribe’s battle spread, Muzan questioned Shinri Masato about his encounter with him, and Masato was confronted by an unexpected figure after Muzan left.

  • Scribe gave Kyojuro a letter to deliver to Master, urged him to keep training, and departed while Nezuko sensed that he was suppressing anger and regret.
  • Kyojuro, Tanjiro, and the others returned to the Corps base, where Ubuyashiki Kagaya summoned the Hashira to discuss Scribe’s warning about demons changing.
  • Rumors about Scribe’s injury grew increasingly exaggerated and spread through both the Demon Slayer Corps and the demons.
  • Muzan asked Shinri Masato whether he had crippled Scribe with one slash, and Masato nervously admitted that the rumor’s main details were true.

  • Hirano excitedly asked Scribe to repeat his name, then laughed with relief and gratitude when Scribe confirmed it.
  • Outside the room, Asatsuru stopped the disciples from rushing in, and Tamayo predicted Hirano would soon come out looking for her.
  • Hirano knelt before Scribe and explained that he and Asatsuru descended from Hakuji, whose bloodline had led Soryu Dojo for generations.
  • Hirano recounted how Hakuji left the dojo after Koyuki died, how Soryu Dojo flourished, and how a monster later slaughtered most of its gathered members.
  • Hirano said he was old and entrusted the dojo’s future to Asatsuru, then asked her to meet Scribe and invited Tamayo in as Scribe’s wife.
  • Hirano rebuked his disciples for speaking disrespectfully about Scribe and walked over to Tamayo.

Ch. 260A Century Passed Down Through Generations

When Scribe opened it, he found a fragment that appeared to be part of a Bamboo Sword Fragment.

  • Hirano brought Asatsuru to meet Scribe and Tamayo, and Asatsuru learned the history of Soryu Dojo and its connection to Hakuji and Koyuki.
  • Asatsuru told Scribe that her parents had disappeared after visiting the graves of the previous dojo masters, despite Hirano’s searches.
  • Scribe suspected demons were behind the dojo massacre and Asatsuru’s parents’ disappearance, but Tamayo, Hirano, and Asatsuru comforted him when he became distressed.
