Madara looked indifferently at the cheering crowd and suddenly found it all utterly dull.
Did this cheering mean anything? He had not even finished warming up.
Madara lightly shook the scythe in his hand, flinging off the droplets of blood, then walked off the fighting platform without looking back, leaving the crowd with a dashing silhouette.
What Madara did not see was that the manager who had allowed him onto the stage was now staring fixedly at his back, excitement gleaming in his eyes.
Great Soul Arena, registration counter. "Settle it!" Madara said, slapping his badge onto the counter.
The attendant working at the front desk was the very one who had received Madara earlier. His expression now looked as though he had seen a ghost.
How long had it even been? After receiving Madara, the attendant had merely gone to the restroom. By the time he returned, Madara was already standing here.
He had heard on the way to the fighting platform that Madara's opponent was the long-famous Rock Fang Demon Pig. In his eyes, Madara had basically had no chance of coming back alive.
Seeing Madara now was like seeing a ghost in the flesh.
"O-Okay!" The attendant nodded like a pecking chick and hurriedly began settling Madara's winnings.
"Lord Soul Master, these are the Gold Soul Coins you have earned, along with your Soul Fighting badge. Please take them!" The attendant respectfully presented a small pouch of Gold Soul Coins and the Soul Fighting badge with both hands.
"Lord Soul Master, please wait a moment!" the manager shouted as he ran over.
"You? What do you want?" Madara looked at him coldly. This was no decent man. If Madara had been weak, this fellow might have gotten him killed. Naturally, Madara had no favorable impression of him.
The manager caught his breath, then put on a charming smile. "Hello, Lord Soul Master! My name is Jerry, and I am one of the people in charge of Jeno City Great Soul Arena!"
"Get to the point!" Madara said impatiently.
"It's like this! I would like to cooperate with you. Would you be interested in winning every match with ease?" The smile on Jerry's face froze, because Madara ignored him entirely and headed straight for the exit.
"Not interested!" Madara waved a hand without turning around.
"You really will not consider it? If that is the case, then when you come to the Soul Fighting Arena in the future..." Jerry deliberately drew out his words toward Madara's retreating back.
Madara stopped walking. Was this... was this man threatening Uchiha Madara?
Interesting!
Madara rested the scythe in his hand on Jerry's shoulder and said with an amused expression, "Are you threatening me?"
Fast—far too fast!
In the blink of an eye, Madara seemed to teleport before Jerry, leaving him no time to react.
"No, no, no! My friend! You have misunderstood me!" Jerry was so frightened that he did not dare move, hastily explaining himself. He knew perfectly well how terrifying the scythe in Madara's hand was.
It could cleave through rock in an instant. Jerry did not think his little body could withstand a single strike.
Jerry was one of the people in charge of this Soul Fighting Arena. He had thought dealing with Madara would be foolproof, but he had not expected to encounter a lunatic who drew his weapon at the slightest disagreement.
He had never expected anyone to dare make a move inside the Soul Fighting Arena despite the consequences.
Since he could become one of the people in charge of this Soul Fighting Arena, Jerry was naturally no simple character. He quickly calmed down and said, "I only want to cooperate with you so that you can win, while earning some Gold Soul Coins along the way!"
"Oh?" Madara was indeed somewhat interested.
Seeing Madara waver, Jerry promptly laid out his plan. "I can arrange your opponent for your next match! That way, you can win, and we can build up the Blood Pupil Asura name!"
Madara understood somewhat. Jeno City Soul Fighting Arena needed a star attraction, something like the celebrities of the Shinobi World, such as Koyuki Kazahana.
Madara suddenly felt that if this was all the cooperation entailed, it was not bad at all. He lowered the scythe from Jerry's shoulder.
Jerry's tightly wound body relaxed slightly. He knew Madara had probably agreed.
Jerry quickly got into character and suggested to Madara beside him, "For your next match, I will arrange an opponent below level 25! That way, winning will be easier for you!"
"No! I will only fight those stronger than me!" Madara licked his dry lips. Thinking of all the powerful enemies he would fight in the future, he could barely restrain his battle intent.
Trash and weaklings had no value in being crushed!
"However, I have one more condition!" Madara said leisurely.
Jerry was somewhat surprised that Madara had another request, but he still replied politely, "Please, go ahead!"
"I want every match to be a Life and Death Duel!" Madara smiled with a hint of madness, revealing boundless killing intent.
For the Sharingan to break through, he had to be caught between life and death, squeeze out every last bit of his potential, and survive only after being driven to the brink of death.
That guy just now had not even forced out my soul skill! Much less Madara's full strength.
"Every match? Are you sure?" Jerry could hardly believe his ears. To him, Madara was seeking death.
"Isn't that exactly what you want?"
"Fine! Then when do you plan to start?" Jerry asked after agreeing.
"Right now!!!"
"Are you sure? Don't you need to rest first?" Jerry said as he chased after Madara from behind.
Jerry truly wanted to use Madara to raise Jeno City Soul Fighting Arena's reputation, but he did not want Madara to collapse on the stage because of overconfidence. Do not misunderstand—he simply did not want to lose money that way.
"I'm not like that trash from before!" Madara said disdainfully as he walked.
Seeing that Madara had made up his mind, Jerry could only say helplessly, "You really are impossible! Go arrange it for him."
"Manager, there happens to be a Life and Death Duel right now!" the attendant said with some difficulty, as if he sensed something was wrong.
"Oh? Who is it?" Madara asked curiously.
"It's me!" A loud shout came from behind the three of them. Madara turned around and saw a burly man walking toward him.
Compared to his muscular body, his head was unexpectedly small. His thick, powerful legs accounted for more than half of his total height, making him look strangely comical.
"Yan Ya was my brother from childhood to adulthood. Now that you've killed him, you'll have to face me on the fighting platform!" the man said through gritted teeth, his face full of hatred for Madara.
"Iron Claw Demon Bird, level 28 Assault Type Great Soul Master, martial soul: ostrich!" Jerry quietly reminded Madara from behind.
Rather than worrying at Jerry's warning, Madara grew excited. He provoked Iron Claw, saying, "Trash has no value in existing! If you have the ability, come kill me! I accept your challenge!"
"Very good! I'll be waiting for you on the fighting platform!" Iron Claw gave a savage grin. He did not believe he could lose to a One-ring Soul Master.
What Iron Claw did not know was that the deceased Yan Ya had thought the same way.
After Iron Claw left, Jerry said anxiously, "Have you gone mad? Nearly ten levels apart! Do you really think you can win?"
Madara gave him a proud, cold glance and said slowly, "I only worry that he won't be strong enough!"
