After leaving Meng Yiran, Madara began wandering aimlessly through the forest.
Madara had already obtained his Second Spirit Skill, so this was the perfect chance to test the power of his second soul ring in the forest.
Yet for some reason, he had not encountered any Spirit Beasts nearby. The occasional few were only ten-year ones, and upon sensing the bloodlust around Madara, they fled in terror.
Madara began to understand. This was the territory of the Crimson Serpent. As the overlord of this region, naturally no blind Spirit Beast would dare challenge its authority.
So how should he familiarize himself with his Second Spirit Skill? Madara stopped walking and fell into deep thought.
Suddenly, Madara seemed to think of something.
He remembered passing a campsite earlier. There was a group of ill-intentioned Soul Masters there, who had laid a net over heaven and earth as they waited for their prey.
Those who killed would eventually be killed!
Madara had no goodwill toward such people. Since they already intended to rob and murder, using them to test his Spirit Skill was not excessive.
He acted as soon as he thought of it!
Madara turned around and hurried back toward the campsite he had come from. It had only been half a day; that group should still be there.
By the time Madara returned, the setting sun was already about to sink below the horizon.
Madara strode into the empty campsite, completely ignoring the figures flickering in and out of sight around him.
By the time Madara stood in the center of the camp and looked around, a group of people had already surrounded him.
More and more Soul Masters gathered, growing from several to over a dozen, completely cutting off Madara's retreat.
The moment they closed in, these people—who might otherwise have had a chance to survive—were sentenced to death by Madara.
"Boss, it's him! The one from this morning!" The Dog Martial Soul Soul Master sniffed the air, his eyes lighting up as he eagerly spoke to the boss beside him.
"I didn't expect someone to walk right into our net!" The boss was completely unconcerned, believing his side had overwhelming numbers.
"It seems the effect is quite good." Madara drew the sickle and fan from his back, while at the same time activating his Sharingan Martial Soul Possession.
Two yellow soul rings appeared, one of them even carrying a faint purple gleam, but they still could not intimidate this pack of wolves and tigers.
"Get him!" The boss summoned his own Martial Soul as well, transforming into a ferocious half-man, half-tiger beast as he gave the order.
Perhaps out of caution, or perhaps because he simply sensed that Madara was not easy to deal with, the boss did not charge in immediately.
The other Soul Masters likely wanted a share of the spoils as well, rushing toward Madara one after another.
How utterly foolish!
Madara's lips curled slightly as he looked mockingly at this group of creatures that did not know their own limits.
Madara moved as well, slowly walking toward the Soul Masters. Then his pace grew faster and faster, before turning into a sprint.
More than a dozen ranged Spirit Skills flew toward Madara, intending to kill him on the spot.
At that moment, Madara seemed to be completely engulfed by them.
But Madara would not be defeated so easily. With a sickle in one hand and a fan in the other, he spun them rapidly like a whirlwind.
The ranged Spirit Skills were either detonated or shattered, unable to harm him in the slightest.
After blocking all the ranged Spirit Skills, Madara immediately stopped and lowered his head to glance regretfully at the fan.
If it were the Six Paths War Fan, those ranged attacks could all have been reflected back!
But these enemies gave Madara no such time. They swarmed forward, utterly undeterred.
Bright blade light streaked through the night, accompanied by blood spraying into the air.
The Soul Master charging at the front had not even reacted before both his hands were gone. He staggered backward with a scream, his eyes filled with terror as he looked at Madara.
Naturally, Madara would not give his opponent a chance to catch his breath. He shot forward at high speed and swung his sickle.
A head bearing an incredulous expression flew into the air.
In just one exchange, the Soul Master who had charged the fastest was instantly killed by a single slash from Madara.
Yet Madara's advance did not slow in the slightest. He charged straight toward another Soul Master.
The Soul Master targeted by Madara froze for an instant when he saw his companion so effortlessly cut down.
But that instant was enough for Madara to seize the opportunity. Another slash came down.
How foolish!
A trace of mockery flashed through Madara's Sharingan. Losing focus in battle was simply courting death.
Squelch!
The Soul Master slowly lowered his head and discovered a strange blood-red dagger embedded in his chest.
Before he could react, Madara viciously stomped on his chest, sending him flying like a cannonball toward a Soul Master rushing over.
That Soul Master reflexively caught his companion's corpse, but he had misjudged the enormous force behind it. The two of them rolled far away together.
After struggling to push the corpse away, the Soul Master had just begun to rise when a bright blade flashed before his eyes.
Then the world spun around him, and where he had once been standing, there was now a very familiar headless corpse.
The last thing that Soul Master saw was a pair of scarlet eyes.
Madara's frenzied attacks, completely disregarding defense, finally allowed that Dog Martial Soul master to charge right up to him.
Now, I'll test it on you!
The second spirit ring behind Madara flashed as he quietly unleashed his Second Spirit Skill.
Just as the man bared his fangs and brandished his claws, Madara suddenly raised his head, revealing those blood-red eyes.
Those scarlet eyes were like the eyes of a demon from hell, filled with undisguised malice.
He remembered his childhood again. It was as though he had become prey on a predator's plate, making every hair on his body stand on end.
"I can't move!"
The Dog Martial Soul master felt as though one powerful enemy after another was hunting him down—endless and unceasing.
Then he felt pain at his neck, and was finally freed!
Only a few minutes had passed since the battle began, yet nearly half of the charging spirit masters had already been slain by Madara.
Severed arms and mangled limbs mixed with blood lay strewn behind Madara, paving a savage road.
The remaining spirit masters took one look at Madara, who seemed like a god of slaughter descended upon the world, and turned tail and ran.
All they wanted now was to get as far away as possible from this man who spread slaughter and death.
"Impossible! How could someone with only two spirit rings be this powerful?" Several spirit masters who had tried to circle around and launch a sneak attack cried out before turning and fleeing.
"Don't run! Get back in there!" The Tiger Martial Soul master known as the boss roared, sending two spirit masters who had fled to his side flying with a slap, but he still could not salvage the situation.
Running now—didn't they think it was too late?
Madara had no intention of mercifully sparing these people. They certainly had not shown him any mercy when they attacked him earlier.
Soon, agonized wails and desperate pleas for mercy rang out without end.
Madara charged through the crowd. With his masterful combat skills and abundant Soul Power, no one could withstand even a single exchange with him.
"You over there—stop now, and I'll spare your life!" Madara shouted at the boss, who had already run far away, while carrying a round fan over his shoulder and standing atop a corpse.
The boss halted and turned around, staring at Madara in disbelief.
Now, sink into an illusion of despair!
