Background / History
Qiong Xiao was the mistress of Bixia Palace on the Three Immortal Islands and an Innate Being associated with the Intercepting Sect. She is one of the Sanxiao sisters alongside Yun Xiao and Bi Xiao, and was originally proud of her status as a Sage's disciple and her prospects of reaching Grand Unity. 5 11 19
She was pursued to Buzhou Mountain by rogue cultivators seeking her spirit treasures. Already severely wounded and out of Immortal Essence, she hid in a cave while holding the unusable Golden Flood Dragon Scissors. Though she wished to self-detonate her Primordial Spirit rather than be captured, she lacked the strength to do so. 1 2
Lin Feng intervened against her pursuers and offered her a choice: become his maidservant or risk irreversible damage to her Dao Foundation. Qiong Xiao initially viewed the demand as humiliating, but submitted after witnessing Lin Feng erase Golden Immortals and recognizing that he could preserve her future path. 5 6 7
After becoming Lin Feng's first contracted maidservant, Qiong Xiao gradually exchanged her reluctance for devotion. Lin Feng exposed fundamental flaws in her formations, healed and enhanced her Dao Foundation, elevated her cultivation, and guided her into a deeper understanding of the Dao of Formations. He later accepted her as a registered disciple. 11 15 17
Qiong Xiao accompanied Lin Feng to the East Sea to rescue Bi Xiao, then helped defend the Three Immortal Islands. Her greatly improved formations convinced Bi Xiao of Lin Feng's power and helped persuade her elder sister to submit as well. 20 28 36 37
Appearance
Qiong Xiao is described as a peerlessly beautiful immortal maiden with a graceful figure, jade-like hands, and an initially cold, aloof bearing. Her appearance softens noticeably when she is around Lin Feng, particularly when seeking his approval. 2 24
- Often wears palace attire; she is later described in an apricot-yellow silk skirt and, elsewhere, a jade-green silk dress. 24 267 443
- Has clear, cold eyes that later gain a more restrained and profound Dao-bearing presence after her enlightenment. 17
- Her expression can shift sharply from a formation master's composure in battle to nervous anticipation when awaiting Lin Feng's praise. 24
Personality
Before meeting Lin Feng, Qiong Xiao was proud, resolute, and fiercely protective of her dignity. Even when weakened beyond the ability to resist, she refused to willingly submit to the rogue cultivators pursuing her. 2 5
Her encounters with Lin Feng fundamentally change her outlook. His mastery of formations and his restoration of her cultivation replace her humiliation with reverence, gratitude, and near-fanatical loyalty. After her Dao Foundation is remade and her formation bottleneck is broken, she openly declares that she will serve him without regret. 12 17
Qiong Xiao remains caring toward her sisters and is particularly concerned for Bi Xiao's safety. She also becomes protective of Lin Feng's authority, stopping Bi Xiao from attacking him and warning others not to disrespect her master. 19 36
In later appearances, she is gentler and more approachable than her initial demeanor suggests, while retaining a cool, disciplined attitude in combat. 189 267 367
