Maria silently accepted the protective charm, and I could no longer find anything to say.

Once he could finally breathe, he noticed that Lin Yan had been holding Beatrice's letter the whole time. His sweaty palm had shifted the paper slightly, revealing that there was actually a second page. Since the sheets had been stuck tightly together, Lin Yan had thought there was only one page. There was no writing on the second page. Instead, it bore a Magic Circle drawn in blood-red ink.
Every previous Magic Circle had been different, and this was the first time I had seen this one as well.
This design was quite simple, made up of a circle and two triangles of different sizes within it.
But as usual, Hebrew words were written on it, clearly carrying some sort of meaning.
