Keep running.
I had been running.
I was just desperately running straight ahead. And I was crying out without restraint. I had never imagined that running on my own two legs could bring such intense exhilaration and excitement.
Cave
In the blink of an eye, the scenery changed, and without realizing it, I had arrived at a cave at the foot of a beautiful mountain. Ah, wait. I knew this mountain.
That was right, the mountain was called Mount Pelion. In a cave at this famous Greek tourist destination lived a world-renowned centaur.
His name was Chiron. He was Greece's proudest great sage, the man who had taught countless heroes.
At that point, as Chiron's Master, I finally understood. This was a Servant's past. Because our circuits were connected, a Master could sometimes read a Servant's memories while asleep.
Of course, I could consciously cut off that flow of information, but instead I adjusted my mind to make the blending easier. I was not used to doing it, so it took quite some time... but afterward, I could see Chiron every time I dreamed.
Here, I could see the side of him I had never known.
As I approached the cave, a boy walked toward me. Since he called me Teacher, he must have been one of the students.
The boy lightly leaped onto a nearby rock. Then he looked down at Chiron, his expression filled with expectation, and said:
"Teacher, let's go hunting! Let's go hunting!"
"No."
Chiron's answer was unusually merciless, and the boy immediately puffed out his cheeks. Seeing that, I could not help chuckling. The boy was very beautiful—or perhaps delicate-featured would have been more accurate. He gave off an androgynous air that made it hard to tell his gender. Even so, every word and movement
