The innocent civilians fled for their lives, while the soldiers' scalps went numb. They had never expected the thing they were fighting to be such a monster. Its muscles were so powerful that it could probably crush a person's skull with one hand.

A solemn, somewhat elderly major general clenched his teeth as he stared at the surveillance feed. "Requesting reinforcements! We've encountered a monster. Our firepower can't bring it down!"

This major general was none other than Major General Ross! His real name was Thaddeus Ross, also known as Thunderbolt General Ross, a lieutenant general in the United States Air Force.

He had devoted his life to capturing Hulk, Bruce Banner, but had repeatedly failed for various reasons. In order to defeat Hulk, General Ross agreed to let the two supervillains, M.O.D.O.K. and The Leader, transform him into Red Hulk with gamma rays.

Abomination's original name was Emil Blonsky. He had once been a Croatian agent working for the former Soviet spy organization, the KGB. After receiving the same dose of gamma radiation that had turned Bruce Banner into Hulk, Emil had completely transformed into Abomination and could no longer return to his original appearance.
