In this age, where there were practically no secrets left, finding someone should have been effortless. Missing-person cases, once so common, had become rare. Surveillance cameras covered every corner, and personal information was thoroughly documented.
Lin Yan remembered that missing persons had been commonplace in his own world. Child disappearances, for instance, were trafficking cases.
Around 200,000 children went missing every year, and only 0.1% of them were recovered. In other words, child trafficking happened every day on average. And only 0.1% of the rescued children could return to their parents. The rest either died in accidents or could not be found because they had been too young.

Ginoza spoke.
"Unemployed... There are still people without jobs these days?" Akane Tsunemori's worldview was shaken once again. Though she had seen the abandoned districts, where many people were unemployed drifters and sources of instability in society.
"But this is a residential district in a law-abiding society, not one of those abandoned places... Why..."
