"Because it was impossible between Lin Yan and me." Lin Yan understood why Hishiro Chizuru had said that, but he did not refute her. It was indeed true. Sooner or later, Lin Yan would leave this world, never to return. From then on, there would no longer be anyone named Lin Yan. Once he left, it meant they would absolutely never be together. Hishiro Chizuru strode ahead and said, "Let's go!"
Onoya An said awkwardly,
"Sorry, Lin Yan."
"It's fine."
In the classroom.
Kariu Rena immediately spotted Hishiro Chizuru entering the classroom. They greeted each other, and Kariu Rena returned the hair tie to Hishiro Chizuru.
"Here, your hair tie from last time. Thanks."
"Oh, right! I was really troubled without it. I don't have a spare hair tie, so I tied my hair with a rubber band today." Hishiro Chizuru took the hair tie.
"What!? You don't have even one spare hair tie at home!?"
Kariu Rena was utterly astonished. Most girls with long hair had all kinds of hair ties. She herself had dozens at home, in all sorts of colors and styles.
Yet Hishiro Chizuru did not even have one replacement. That was really strange.
"Then this might be perfect!" Tamari Honoka said.
"Yeah!" Kariu Rena took out a gift bag. The little bag was adorable, the kind of thing no girl could refuse.
"Here."
"?" Hishiro Chizuru looked at it in confusion, unsure what Kariu Rena meant. Was this a gift for her? If it was, then this would be the first gift Hishiro Chizuru had ever received from a friend. But what if she was misunderstanding?
No way.
Hishiro Chizuru's feelings were a tangled mess.
"Just take it already! Honoka and I bought it yesterday."
"It's a gift for you. How should I put it?
