The alley seemed incredibly long. The two walked in silence, and the only sound within it was their footsteps. The woman walked somewhat slowly, and Amon matched her pace as they made their way forward through the alley.
"Miss Koharu!"
After they emerged from the dark alley, someone called out to the woman. Her name was Koharu. The form of address also seemed to indicate that the two were not mother and daughter, but had some other relationship.
"Aunt Onikaze, sorry to have kept you waiting." Koharu spoke gently to the woman called Onikaze.
"No, it's fine. But this gentleman is...?" The older woman, Onikaze, sized Amon up before looking at Koharu.
"When I stood up earlier, I suddenly felt dizzy. This gentleman was worried about me, so he accompanied me here. I wonder if you remember him—he's the person we met this morning."
Although Koharu had explained everything clearly, Onikaze still looked worried and eyed Amon suspiciously. Her expression was highly vigilant. After all, a man who had suddenly appeared like this was indeed suspicious. Amon also felt that something was wrong, but the problem was Koharu. Her conversation with that man had been extremely suspicious. She must have run into some kind of trouble.
"Although I don't know exactly what happened, if it involves a crime, it would be better to report it to the relevant law enforcement authorities."
After considering it, Amon decided to say it aloud. If he did not remind Koharu and something irreversible happened later, he would feel guilty as well.
"This kind of situation won't be resolved simply by enduring it alone. Sometimes, it isn't just you who suffers. Innocent people around you may be dragged into it too."
Amon's words were logical
