Life in the Extreme North

Ice Empress is one of the Three Great Heavenly Kings of the Extreme North. Before accompanying Luo Hao, she had never left the region—not even to visit the Star Dou Great Forest. Much of her long life was spent sleeping to pass the loneliness of an environment with few Soul Beasts 288 332 349 351.

She regards the Extreme North as a rare refuge from human Soul Masters, although its scarce resources force its inhabitants to compete. To her, surviving that competition is itself proof of strength 217 311.

Capture and reluctant cooperation

Luo Hao seeks Ice Empress as a potential pet rather than an intelligent Soul Ring. His lure carries Sky Dream Ice Silkworm’s scent, attracting her attention; flattery then persuades her to reveal herself. He throws an explosive Poké Ball at her and seals her true body and power inside it 197 210 211 213.

The ball allows her to manifest a tiny Soul Power incarnation, but it cannot prevent her from self-destructing. Suspicious of an ambush and furious at her captivity, she eventually accepts limited cooperation, offering to help Luo Hao once if he releases her during danger. He conceals her identity from Chrysanthemum and Ghost Douluo by presenting her as an ordinary little scorpion 213 214 242.

She accompanies him into human society and develops an appetite for its food and experiences. Her identity is eventually revealed to his friends, whose fear visibly pleases her. Bodyguard duty and the 400,000-year tribulation

Luo Hao arranges for Ice Empress to protect Bibi Dong and Yilian in the Time Tower, promising to return her to the Extreme North after the tournament. While there, she consumes ice-attributed treasures and becomes especially affectionate toward the reincarnated Bibi Dong 289 302.

Her greatly increased strength brings on a dangerous tribulation. Snow Empress intervenes, and Luo Hao shields Ice Empress from black lightning despite suffering repeated wounds. After Ice Empress survives, Snow Empress faces a severe tribulation of her own. Ice Empress tries to reach her despite her own depleted Soul Power, then begs Luo Hao to save her, offering to accept any condition 310 313 314 316 318.

When Luo Hao prepares to leave, Ice Empress realizes that her anger and humiliation have gradually become affection. She pursues him despite Snow Empress’s warnings about humans and subsequently chooses to continue exploring the human world with him 320 321 330.

Spirit Hall and the Star Dou Great Forest

Luo Hao publicly introduces Ice Empress as an outside ally and then makes her an honorary elder of Spirit Hall. Her presence alarms the organization’s leadership, but his protection and authority secure her position 332 333.

She also persuades him to give Snow Empress Crystal Blood Dragon Ginseng to repair her damaged origin. Later, she helps uncover an auspicious beast’s golden egg in the Star Dou Great Forest and defends Luo Hao when Di Tian, Bear Lord, and Scarlet King confront him 345 346 350 351 352.
