You Wouldn't Want To...
In the end, before the crimson sword light unleashed from that blade could descend, the Herrscher of the Void successfully escaped. Though the consumption had been immense, she had not suffered any serious injuries.
Yet, looking at the tall figure faintly visible amid the flames below, the Herrscher of the Void felt not the slightest joy at her victory—
Kiana was nothing more than a nuisance she could destroy with a wave of her hand. This man, who had supposedly vanished long ago, was the real trouble.
"Heh~"
With a cold laugh, the Herrscher of the Void—showing no awareness that she had been spared—put away the unwillingness on her face and once again assumed that lofty demeanor—
"You finally came back?"
"I came back."
With one arm around Kiana and Fire of Annihilation in the other hand, Gwen nodded and met those golden eyes.
"You shouldn't have come back."
The Herrscher of the Void looked at him without yielding in the slightest:
"If..."
"But I came back anyway."
Before the Herrscher of the Void could finish, Gwen interrupted her.
"Hmph~"
With a dissatisfied snort, a strange glint flashed through the Herrscher of the Void's golden eyes:
"This idiot has nearly burned herself dry. What can you do by coming back?"
"Of course I'll make sure Kiana wakes up alive and well. You don't need to worry about that."
Already having formed a few ideas, Gwen smiled and said something that sent the Herrscher of the Void's blood pressure soaring:
"If we're lucky, maybe we'll even have two cute daughters?"
"You dare!"
At those words, the lazy expression on the Herrscher of the Void's face instantly shattered. She glared at Gwen with pure hatred.
"Why wouldn't I dare?"
He casually waved Fire of Annihilation in his hand.
