Golden light fell over the two of them, as though draping them in a layer of golden gauze.
When Gwen glanced beside him, he saw a faint golden glow upon that fair, tender skin, stirring an instinctive urge to find out just how warm and soft it was.
Premonition and the Beginning of Action
On the balcony of Phylannor's chambers, Gwen and Phylannor sat across from each other at a tea table after setting the book aside.
Before Gwen could make a move, Phylannor gave him a demonstration of the tea-making skills she had cultivated in Anor Londo all those years ago.
The fragrant tea entered his mouth and left a lingering aroma on his lips and teeth, easing Gwen's expression somewhat.
"Come to think of it, it has been a long time since I last drank this kind of tea..."
Seeing that Gwen was fairly satisfied with the tea she had brewed, Phylannor took a light sip herself before speaking.
"Because of all those years of sleep?
Or..."
Gwen set down his teacup and asked softly.
"Don't you already have the answer in your heart?"
Phylannor revealed a slightly playful smile and looked toward the sun hanging in the sky, scattering brilliant sunlight across the earth.
"As the First Flame steadily declined, the environment gradually worsened as well. Many things that were commonplace back then became increasingly rare.
Until recently, the flames have grown stronger and stronger, and everything has begun to develop toward how it was when Father was still alive...
You could even say that the sun now feels more dazzling to me than it did back then..."
"Isn't that a good thing?"
Gwen smiled and looked at the sun as well.
