At the bottom of the underground lake, within the enormous subterranean cavern.
A colossal beast over thirty meters long from head to tail, radiating a dark green glow, lay sprawled on the ground.
Aside from its diamond-shaped dark green scales, its entire spine down to its tail was covered in a dense row of green spikes resembling dorsal fins. Its tail was pointed and long, and four large feet, neither quite paws nor claws and covered in webbed scales, extended from the sides of its slender yet powerful body.
Its head was especially enormous, with two antelope-like curved horns on top. Every line on its head was as thick as a child's arm and hung down along both sides. Its lantern-sized eyes were currently closed, while its nostrils were flat and upturned.
Its enormous jaws were tightly shut, and short, needle-like whiskers covered the area beneath its mouth. It bore a seventy percent resemblance to the dragons of legend, its entire body emanating an aura of majesty and savage menace. Endless power of Heaven and Earth was drawn in with every breath it took, causing surging power to ripple across its body. Every breath stirred up vast clusters of bubbles, making the surrounding aquatic plants shake violently and float upward.
Occasionally, corrosive venom dripped from the fangs beside its savage mouth, landing on the ground with sizzling corrosive sounds.
This time, it had not been asleep for very long and was still in a light slumber.
After several more years in this light-sleep state, if no one disturbed it, it would enter a state of deep sleep.
That would be its most comfortable time.
For the Demon Dragon, with its long lifespan, sleep not only saved its immense body from unnecessary energy expenditure, but was also a process of storing
