Now that the Puppet Butler had emerged from seclusion, Zhou Hao and Murong no longer needed to remain in the training room to observe.
They returned to their familiar spot at the bow of the ship.
Suddenly, Murong's willow brows lifted slightly. "There's a trap ahead."
Zhou Hao paused faintly, examined the area carefully, and asked, "Where?"
He had not noticed anything amiss.
Murong chuckled and pointed straight ahead. "Near that golden star to the side. The space there feels a little unnatural.
There should be some kind of formation trap set up there. You're only a God King right now. If you draw on my power, you should be able to sense the situation there quite clearly."
"Then should we take a detour?" Zhou Hao considered it before asking.
Murong shook her head. "No. We'll go straight in.
If I'm not mistaken, this trap is meant as a test, used to select targets for attack."
Hearing that, Zhou Hao's eyes widened slightly, and he immediately understood. "This was deliberate on the trap-setter's part. If someone falls into the trap, it means they can be attacked. If they don't, it means they saw through it, and then they won't attack."
"Mm." Murong nodded gently and explained with a smile, "If they see through it, that means the other side is at least a God Emperor or an expert on the level of a God Emperor. They'll give up on attacking.
If they don't see through it, it means they're confident of winning.
This is a very standard method of probing in the universe, though it carries great risk."
Zhou Hao stroked his chin, deep in thought. "So you want us to fall into their trap, pretend we're not strong, and lure the person who set the trap into attacking us."
