The atmosphere was oppressively tense.
Grand Elder Ming Luo stood in the center of the hall, head lowered, not daring to take a deep breath.
Before him, Xuanji's face was dark enough to drip water.
"What did you say?" Xuanji's voice seemed to squeeze through his teeth.
"Th-that group has appeared again," Ming Luo said with difficulty.
"Urgent reports just came in from thirty-seven subordinate domains at once. Half their Fortune was... forcibly extracted."
"Bastards!"
Xuanji slammed his palm onto the throne's armrest. The throne, forged from indestructible Chaos Divine Metal, instantly crumbled to dust.
"How dare they?!" Xuanji was beside himself with rage.
True Lord Shenluo had only just returned. He had said nothing except that they must not provoke the Flowing Light Domain again.

"This time... they acted differently," Ming Luo added cautiously.
"They took only half the Fortune and harmed no one. Even the masters of those worlds were merely suppressed for a time. They weren't killed."
