Ch. 141Daoist Friend, Are You Willing to Part With It?

East King Duke visited the Dragon Palace to ask Candle Dragon to join the Immortal Court in resisting the Demon Race, but Candle Dragon refused and said Ao Hai and the other Dragon Clan members serving the Immortal Court would fulfill their duty. East King Duke challenged Candle Dragon to consider whether he could bear to send the Dragon Clan’s most promising talent into danger, leaving Candle Dragon silent and conflicted.

  • East King Duke and Ao Hai arrived at the Dragon Palace, where Candle Dragon praised Ao Hai’s cultivation and acknowledged East King Duke’s guidance.
  • Candle Dragon sent Ao Hai away before discussing East King Duke’s visit, shielding him from having to speak between the Dragon Clan and the Immortal Court.
  • East King Duke asked Candle Dragon to have the Dragon Clan join the Immortal Court in resisting the Demon Race, but Candle Dragon refused.
  • Candle Dragon said Ao Hai and the other Dragon Clan members who had joined the Immortal Court would fight as part of their duty.
  • East King Duke asked whether Candle Dragon could bear to let Ao Hai risk his life, reminding him that Ao Hai was the Dragon Clan’s hope, and Candle Dragon fell silent.

Ch. 142Daoist Friend, You Don't Want Your Dragon Clan...

East King Duke pressured Candle Dragon to support the Immortal Court against the Demon Race by exposing Candle Dragon’s limited lifespan and warning that the Dragon Clan would be vulnerable without him. He offered to keep Ao Hai and the Dragon Clan’s elites out of battle and help Ao Hai reach the Quasi-Sage Realm, leaving Candle Dragon to weigh the bargain.

  • East King Duke deduced that Candle Dragon had suffered incurable Dao wounds and had little time left, prompting Candle Dragon to admit it.
  • Candle Dragon refused to risk the Dragon Clan in the war, but East King Duke warned that the clan’s wealth and survival would be threatened after Candle Dragon’s death.
  • East King Duke offered to spare Ao Hai and the Dragon Clan elites from fighting if Candle Dragon joined the Immortal Court against the Demon Race.
  • East King Duke promised to teach Ao Hai the method of Slaying Three Corpses and support his advancement to the Quasi-Sage Realm after the war.
  • Candle Dragon silently considered the offer and sighed, recognizing that he had no choice.

Ch. 143Is It Worth It

Candle Dragon agreed to lend the Dragon Clan’s surviving elders to East King Duke’s Immortal Court in exchange for protection and support for Ao Hai’s rise to the Quasi-Sage Realm. Ao Hai learned that the elders were wagering their lives for the Dragon Clan’s future and vowed to fulfill their hopes.

  • East King Duke asked Candle Dragon and the Dragon Clan elders to fight for the Immortal Court, and Candle Dragon warned that the battle could exhaust their remaining life force.
  • East King Duke promised to shelter the Dragon Clan and nurture Ao Hai, persuading Candle Dragon that the clan had no safe path if the Immortal Court fell.
  • Candle Dragon agreed to help on condition that Ao Hai and other Dragon Clan elites stay out of the war, that Ao Hai receive support to reach the Quasi-Sage Realm, and that the clan later send more disciples to share the Immortal Court’s Fortune.
  • East King Duke accepted Candle Dragon’s terms and departed, while Candle Dragon arranged for Ao Hai to remain with the Dragon Clan until the war ended.
  • Ao Hai asked whether the sacrifice was worth it, and Candle Dragon explained that the elders were risking their lives to secure Ao Hai’s chance to protect the clan.
  • Ao Hai knelt and vowed to advance to the Quasi-Sage Realm, and Candle Dragon told him to cultivate with the clan until the war was over.

Ch. 144Immortal-Demon War Begins

The Immortal Court and demon race faced off at the Eastern Sea as the Primordial Wilderness's Great Powers gathered to watch. East King Duke refused Di Jun's demands, and Candle Dragon confirmed the Dragon Clan would fight alongside the Immortal Court, leaving the armies on the brink of battle.

  • The Ancestral Wu set out for the Eastern Sea, and other powerful figures, including the Three Pure Ones, Jieyin, and Zhunti, also traveled there.
  • The immortal and demon armies assembled at the Eastern Sea as Great Powers watched from hiding.
  • Di Jun demanded that East King Duke surrender the Rogue Cultivators who had hunted demons and submit to the demon race.
  • East King Duke rejected Di Jun's demands and defended the Immortal Court's protection of its members.
  • Di Jun threatened Candle Dragon and the Dragon Clan, but Candle Dragon stood by their choice to support the Immortal Court.
  • East King Duke challenged Di Jun to begin the battle.

Ch. 145A Small Punishment to Serve as a Warning

Di Jun and East King Duke’s forces fought to a costly stalemate as their great arrays clashed over the Eastern Sea. Nuwa went to intervene, but Hongjun sent her a warning to spare the Immortal Court and only punish it lightly.

  • Di Jun and East King Duke activated the Zhou Tian Xing Dou Great Array and the Myriad Immortals Array, which clashed over the Eastern Sea.
  • The arrays remained evenly matched, but their backlash killed Demon Soldiers and immortals and weakened both sides.
  • Di Jun and East King Duke realized their forces were suffering heavy losses, while each took comfort in their allies’ support.
  • Nuwa saw the Demon Clan’s casualties and left Empress Wa Heaven to head for the battlefield.
  • Hongjun sensed Nuwa’s approach and instructed her to stop the war without destroying the Immortal Court.

Ch. 146The Myriad Immortals Array is Broken

Nuwa arrived at the Eastern Sea under the Dao Ancestor’s orders and shattered the Myriad Immortals Array, devastating the Immortal Court forces. She declared that she had come by the Dao Ancestor’s command, leaving both armies and the watching powers stunned as Zhou Ming waited to see how she would settle the conflict.

  • Nuwa halted after hearing the Dao Ancestor’s decree to stop the war and spare the Immortal Court, then continued toward the Eastern Sea to decide how to punish the parties.
  • Nuwa struck the Myriad Immortals Array while it clashed with the Zhou Tian Xing Dou Great Array, breaking it and killing or gravely injuring many Immortal Court cultivators and Dragon Clan elders.
  • Nuwa positioned herself between the armies, and Di Jun thanked her for aiding the Demon Clan while the surviving Immortal Court forces despaired.
  • East King Duke accused Nuwa of violating the Dao Ancestor’s decree, but Nuwa said she had come under the Dao Ancestor’s orders to handle the conflict.
  • The watching powers and Ancestral Wu reacted with surprise, while Zhou Ming said there would be another chance to confront Hongjun and chose to watch Nuwa’s next move.

Ch. 147Nuwa's Method

Nuwa demanded that East King Duke hand over the Immortal Court cultivators who had used Demon Race corpses to refine pills and treasures, but he refused despite offering compensation. After Nuwa struck and grievously wounded him, she began singling out the culprits herself.

  • Nuwa demanded that the Immortal Court surrender the corpse-refiners and compensate the Demon Race for its losses.
  • East King Duke refused to hand over his followers, insisting that the Immortal Court had a duty to protect them.
  • Di Jun and Nuwa declared that the culprits had to be surrendered, leaving East King Duke facing a choice between his followers and the Demon Race's demands.
  • East King Duke invoked the Dao Ancestor's command, and Nuwa struck him with her magical power, severely wounding him.
  • Nuwa pointed into the Immortal Court's ranks and sent invisible power toward the cultivators who had refined pills and treasures from Demon Race corpses.

Ch. 148The Great War Ends

Nuwa ended the battle by killing the cultivators responsible for slaughtering Demon Race members, forcing East King Duke and the Immortal Court to retreat. With the Immortal-Demon War over, Hongjun cleared the battlefield’s resentment and began preparing for the remaining Sages to ascend.

  • Nuwa annihilated the chief culprits and warned the Primordial Wilderness that anyone who killed Demon Race members to refine pills or treasures would face no mercy.
  • East King Duke led the surviving Immortal Court cultivators back to the Eastern Sea, while Di Jun thanked Nuwa on behalf of the Demon Race.
  • Nuwa returned to the Heavenly Court with Di Jun, Taiyi, and the Demon Army; Zhou Ming and the Ancestral Wu departed, and the other Great Powers went their separate ways.
  • Hongjun concluded that the war had ended and planned for the remaining Sages to attain the Dao before guiding Houtu to transform into Reincarnation.
  • Hongjun used the Heavenly Dao’s power to erase the battlefield’s bloodlust, resentment, and Baleful Intent.
  • The Immortal Court’s defeat made it a power the Primordial Wilderness could not lightly provoke, and both clans returned to recover as peace resumed.

Ch. 149Laozi Travels the Human Clan

Grand Pure One Laozi entered the Human Tribe while seeking a path to sainthood, prompting Wu to recall the tribe’s Martial Dao cultivators at the True Immortal Realm or above. As Xuandu returned to the Ancestral Land, Suiren sent him to meet Wu about an important matter.

  • Grand Pure One Laozi left Kunlun Mountain to travel the Primordial Wilderness and entered the Human Tribe in disguise.
  • Suiren, Youchao, and Ziyi told Wu that Laozi had arrived, and Wu ordered the tribe to recall its Martial Dao cultivators at the True Immortal Realm or above.
  • Wu allowed ordinary clansmen to attend Laozi’s future teachings but insisted that the tribe’s core cultivators stay away and preserve their resolve.
  • Wu told Suiren to have Xuandu meet him as soon as he returned, and Suiren organized the recall while Youchao and Ziyi assisted.
  • Human Tribe cultivators converged on the Ancestral Land, and Suiren directed the returning Xuandu to go see Wu.

Ch. 150You and He Have a Master-Disciple Destiny

Wu told Xuandu that Grand Pure One Laozi planned to establish the Human Sect and benefit from the Human Clan’s Fortune without necessarily protecting them, so Wu had recalled the clan’s strongest members to keep them from joining. He revealed that Xuandu was different because his Dao was compatible with Laozi’s and they were destined to become master and disciple, leaving Xuandu wondering whether Wu feared he would seek Laozi out as his master.

  • Wu explained that Grand Pure One Laozi was coming to expound the Dao and establish the Human Sect to attain Sagehood and share in the Human Clan’s Fortune.
  • Wu warned Xuandu that Laozi might enjoy the clan’s Fortune without protecting the Human Clan, and that listening to Laozi could draw its strongest members into his sect.
  • Xuandu agreed not to listen to Laozi’s teachings and said he trusted Wu’s judgment.
  • Wu clarified that he had called Xuandu in particular because Xuandu’s Dao was compatible with Laozi’s and they were destined to become master and disciple.
  • Xuandu struggled to believe Wu and asked whether Wu feared he would now go and take Laozi as his master.

Ch. 151I Will Think It Through

Wu told Xuandu that Grand Pure One Laozi was destined to take him as a disciple and explained the certain power and uncertain risks of choosing between Laozi's path and the Martial Path. He warned that Laozi's Dao might make Xuandu indifferent to the Human Clan, and Xuandu left to think carefully about his choice.

  • Wu told Xuandu he could become a Peak Quasi-Saint by studying under Grand Pure One Laozi, while the Martial Path's future remained unknown beyond the Grand Unity Golden Immortal realm.
  • Xuandu asked why joining the Human Sect might make him indifferent to the Human Clan.
  • Wu explained that Laozi's Pure and Inactive Dao could weaken Xuandu's emotions and ties to the mortal world.
  • Xuandu questioned whether a person's Dao could change their temperament and admitted he could not guarantee he would resist that change.
  • Xuandu told Wu he would think carefully about the choice, then left the stone hut.

Ch. 152What's the use of you telling me this?

Zhou Ming visited Nuwa to enlist her help in retrieving the Human Clan’s Fortune treasure, the Kongtong Seal, from The Grand Pure One. He revealed that Taiqing’s real purpose among the Human Clan was to attain the Dao and become a Sage, leaving Nuwa confused about why he had told her something she could not prevent.

  • Zhou Ming went to Empress Wa's Palace and reminded Nuwa that she had promised to help him retrieve something.
  • Zhou Ming told Nuwa that they would retrieve the Kongtong Seal and that The Grand Pure One had taken the opportunity that originally belonged to her.
  • Nuwa declared she was not afraid of offending the Three Pure Ones and agreed to see the matter through.
  • Zhou Ming revealed that Taiqing had gone to the Human Clan chiefly to attain the Dao and become a Sage, not to claim the Kongtong Seal.
  • Zhou Ming said Nuwa could not stop Taiqing because Heaven had decreed his attainment and Hongjun would not allow her to interfere.
  • Nuwa asked Zhou Ming why he had told her about Taiqing's plan if she could not stop it.

Ch. 153Daoist Friend, Do You Dare to Use It?

Zhou Ming explained that Taiqing planned to establish the Human Sect and claim thirty percent of the Human Clan’s Fortune, warning Nuwa that the loss could become disastrous as the clan grew. Nuwa asked for a way to protect that Fortune, and Zhou Ming hinted at a solution while questioning whether she dared to use it.

  • Zhou Ming told Nuwa that Taiqing would establish the Human Sect, enlighten the Human Clan, and gain thirty percent of its Fortune as well as Merit toward becoming a Saint.
  • Nuwa objected that the Human Clan’s Fortune was linked to her, but Zhou Ming pointed out that she had not taught or cared for the clan after creating it.
  • Zhou Ming argued that the Human Clan’s Fortune could become immense because it had already played a part in two Sages attaining the Dao, and Nuwa realized she could not afford to lose a share of it.
  • Nuwa acknowledged that she could not simply stop Taiqing and asked Zhou Ming how she could prevent him from taking the Fortune.
  • Zhou Ming hinted that he had a solution, denied that he only cared about profit, and asked whether Nuwa dared to use his method.

Ch. 154Why Should I Cooperate With You?

Zhou Ming advised Nuwa to make Taiqing swear not to take the Human Clan’s Fortune, then warned that the other Sages would covet it too and offered to help her resist them in exchange for a share. Nuwa rejected the idea of paying Zhou Ming more than Taiqing and questioned why she should not cooperate with Taiqing and the Three Pure Ones instead.

  • Nuwa doubted Zhou Ming’s motives, but he suggested she use her status as the Human Clan’s creator to make Taiqing swear an oath renouncing its Fortune.
  • Zhou Ming warned that Taiqing would resent Nuwa after becoming a Sage and realizing the opportunity she had taken from him.
  • Nuwa decided she would not fear offending Taiqing, since he had disregarded her rights and respect as a Sage.
  • Zhou Ming pointed out that the other Sages would also seek the Human Clan’s Fortune and offered to help Nuwa resist them for a share of it.
  • Nuwa challenged Zhou Ming’s proposed terms, arguing that cooperating with Taiqing could cost her only thirty percent of the Fortune while earning the support of the Three Pure Ones.

Ch. 155The Three Pure Ones Split Up?

Zhou Ming argued that Nuwa’s plan to partner with the Three Pure Ones would fail because they might split apart and could turn against her, while the Western Sages remained a threat. Nuwa questioned whether Zhou Ming would also exclude her, but his claim that he could have seized the Human Clan without negotiating left her speechless and still uncertain.

  • Zhou Ming warned Nuwa that Taiqing’s share of the Human Clan’s Fortune would not bind Primordial Lord or Tongtian to her.
  • Zhou Ming asserted that the Three Pure Ones would eventually develop conflicts and split apart, leaving Nuwa allied with Taiqing alone.
  • Nuwa considered Zhou Ming’s warning credible because his past claims had come true, but resisted accepting his proposal and suggested offering the Three Pure Ones more Fortune.
  • Zhou Ming argued that the Three Pure Ones could unite to push Nuwa aside and that their discord would make it difficult to oppose the Western Sages.
  • Nuwa challenged Zhou Ming’s motives and asked what she could do if he excluded her or failed to restrain the five Sages.
  • Zhou Ming said he could have taken the Human Clan for himself before Nuwa recognized its importance, leaving her speechless but not fully convinced.

Ch. 156I Don't Mind Letting Father God Go Talk to Him

Zhou Ming persuaded Nuwa to cooperate with the Wu Clan, arguing that the alliance could protect her Human Clan Fortune and that the Wu Clan could handle Hongjun. Nuwa accepted after Zhou Ming swore that without cooperation she would be left with only ten percent of that Fortune.

  • Zhou Ming insisted that the Wu Clan would obtain what it wanted through fair exchange and could deter anyone who tried to seize it.
  • Nuwa challenged Zhou Ming’s claim that the Wu Clan did not take others’ possessions by pointing out that he had taken Taiyi’s Chaos Bell, and Zhou Ming defended himself by calling it safekeeping.
  • Nuwa warned that Hongjun might threaten the Wu Clan and undermine their cooperation, but Zhou Ming said the Wu Clan would handle him.
  • Zhou Ming argued that cooperation could preserve Nuwa’s Fortune, while refusing would leave her with only ten percent under the other Sages’ schemes.
  • Nuwa doubted Zhou Ming’s claim until he swore by Great God Pangu’s honor, then agreed to cooperate with him.

Ch. 157My Path is Complete

Zhou Ming secured half of the Human Clan's Fortune from Nuwa in exchange for protecting it, then guided her on how to confront Grand Pure One Laozi. They watched Laozi settle at Shouyang Mountain and await his chance to become a Sage, which came when he realized he could establish a sect among the Human Tribe.

  • Nuwa agreed to give Zhou Ming fifty percent of the Human Clan's Fortune, provided he prevented anyone else from taking more and their cooperation remained limited to protecting that Fortune.
  • Zhou Ming advised Nuwa to use Laozi's secret sect-building in the Human Clan as grounds to demand an oath renouncing its Fortune and to seek his acknowledgment of a favor owed to her.
  • Grand Pure One Laozi discovered Shouyang Mountain, made it his Dao Field, and continued observing the Human Tribe.
  • Zhou Ming and Nuwa concealed themselves above Shouyang Mountain and waited for Laozi to realize his path to sainthood.
  • Laozi grasped that establishing a sect among the Human Tribe would complete his Dao and shouted, "My Dao... is complete!"

Ch. 158You're Afraid I'll Blackmail You, Aren't You

Nuwa interrupted Grand Pure One Laozi just as he was about to establish a sect among the Human Clan and attain Sagehood. After accusing him of trying to hide his plans, she challenged his claim to the Human Clan’s Fortune, leaving him facing a grave conflict before his breakthrough.

  • Grand Pure One Laozi prepared to proclaim his sect and attain Sagehood after sensing his opportunity to break through.
  • Zhou Ming told Nuwa it was time to act, and she appeared before Laozi on Shouyang Mountain.
  • Nuwa confronted Laozi for planning to establish a sect within the Human Clan without informing her, and Laozi blamed his excitement.
  • Nuwa exposed Laozi’s fear that she would obstruct his Dao Path or demand a price, though he denied disrespecting her.
  • Nuwa agreed not to pursue his failure to notify her, then accused him of taking the Human Clan’s Fortune, which she said belonged to her.

Ch. 159Taiqing Makes a Vow

Nuwa confronted Grand Pure One Laozi for seeking sainthood by establishing a sect among the Human Clan and taking its Fortune. Laozi accepted her terms, swore to claim none of the Human Clan's Fortune after becoming a Sage, and bound himself to the Heavenly Dao.

  • Laozi pleaded with Nuwa, explaining that he had not known establishing a sect would divide the Human Clan's Fortune and offering compensation.
  • Nuwa argued that Laozi's actions threatened her interests and a Sage's dignity, then demanded that he renounce any claim to the Human Clan's Fortune after attaining sainthood.
  • Laozi agreed to give up the Human Clan's Fortune and, after weighing the cost, accepted Nuwa's demand that he owe her a favor.
  • Laozi swore before the Heavenly Dao to use the Human Clan to establish a sect and attain sainthood, never occupy its Fortune, and lose his Saint Position if he broke the oath.

Ch. 160Taiqing Becomes a Saint, Kongtong Seal Appears

Grand Pure One Laozi established the Human Sect and became a Sage, then discovered Zhou Ming had helped Nuwa force his oath. When the Kongtong Seal emerged at Shouyang Mountain, Nuwa and Taiqing contested ownership, and Zhou Ming proposed settling the dispute with a fight.

  • Grand Pure One Laozi swore a Heavenly Dao oath, established the Human Sect, and attained Sagehood through its merit.
  • Taiqing sensed Zhou Ming in hiding, and Zhou Ming revealed himself and congratulated him, prompting Taiqing to realize Zhou Ming had guided Nuwa.
  • Shouyang Mountain shook as the Kongtong Seal emerged, and Zhou Ming told Nuwa to claim it for the Human Clan.
  • Taiqing tried to seize the Kongtong Seal, but Nuwa blocked him and argued that it belonged to her as the Human Clan's Saint Mother.
  • Taiqing and Nuwa clashed over the seal's ownership, and Zhou Ming proposed that they fight for it.
