This majestic structure, shaped like a pair of long johns and towering above the clouds, was one of Gusu City's landmarks. At the top of this gate-like building, two figures stood beneath the night sky, silently watching the fog-shrouded city below.
The evening wind swept through the woman's long, black curls, revealing a bewitching, seductive face. Her strange vertical pupils resembled a snake's eyes as she gazed ahead with a faint smile.
If Lin Qiye had been here, he would have recognized this seductive woman with her twisted aura at a glance. Before last year's Lunar New Year, they had fought fiercely on an old street. She had only managed to escape because her follower, Han Shaoyun, had intervened.
She was an evil god of the Ancient God Church, the Medusa Agent, codenamed Snake Woman.
"Looks like the prey has entered the field." She lifted a lock of black hair behind her ear and spoke leisurely.
Beside her, a man entirely shrouded in a black overcoat, tall and upright as an iron tower, frowned slightly. "No... it isn't Phoenix Squad."
Snake Woman froze, her slender brows knitting as well. "Didn't they say that whenever a mysterious threat from beyond the borders appeared, Phoenix Squad would definitely handle it?"
"That is true." The iron-tower-like man spoke slowly. "But one thing is certain: Phoenix Squad would never parachute out of a plane... that's far too low-grade."
Snake Woman hesitated for a moment. "Could it be another Special Squad?"
"Impossible." The man answered with certainty. "The only Special Squads currently active outside are Spirit Medium, Phoenix, and Mask. Spirit Medium always travels on the Thunder God Pillar, Phoenix rides the 'Phoenix,' while Mask simply floats through the air... none of them would land
