The Altar Cleanser Envoy's expression turned extremely grim.
"Immortal, I have an idea..." As if he had thought of something, he had only spoken halfway when another voice rang out excitedly beside him.
"Second Brother, Eldest Brother is here!"
The speaker was a Golden Body Arhat clad in white monastic robes. As he watched the Somersault Cloud rapidly descend from the distant sky, joy appeared in his eyes.
The Altar Cleanser Envoy's eyes lit up, and he immediately rose to his feet.
"Monkey Brother!! Monkey Brother, we're here!"
He seemed to have forgotten his identity as a Buddhist envoy, waving both hands excitedly. A naive, endearing look appeared on his solemn monk's face.
Victorious Fighting Buddha, draped in a Kasaya, landed before them with a smile at the corner of his lips.
"Idiot, Old Sha, you weren't hurt, were you?"
"No, we're perfectly fine. Monkey Brother, where's Master?" The Altar Cleanser Envoy curiously glanced behind him.
"Master went south. The mist is advancing faster over there." Victorious Fighting Buddha replied, his golden eyes turning toward the black mist not far away. He frowned, and the fur all over his body rose slightly.
"What wicked mist..." he muttered.
"Great Sage, hurry and think of a way to stop the mist." Thunder Lord and Lightning Mother hurriedly flew over. "We've tried everything, but we still can't do anything to this mist... If this continues, the people nearby will suffer."
Victorious Fighting Buddha stood on the barren earth and looked up. The black mist filling the heavens and earth rolled toward him, swallowing every trace of light. It was like a colossal beast blotting out the sky and sun, baring its savage fangs at all living beings.
Before it, the figures of all the gods were as insignificant as grains of sand.
