A continuous flight of stone steps stretched upward from the ground like a stairway to heaven, soaring into the clouds.
At the end of the stone steps, on Asgard's highest peak, a magnificent and majestic divine palace stood tall. From its entrance, one could overlook the entirety of the divine kingdom.
Only successive God Kings could reside in this palace, and its previous master had been Odin.
Thor stood before the palace gates, gazing at the chaotic battlefield at the foot of the mountain. His golden curls stirred in the breeze among the clouds, and his cape was like a streak of crimson against the holy hall, dazzling beyond compare.
"Thor... can they hold the line?"
Sif gently wrapped her arms around Thor's waist from behind and asked worriedly.
"They can." Thor spoke with certainty. "Even though the successive troubles have dealt the gods grievous losses, Asgard is still one of the world's foremost divine kingdoms. It won't collapse so easily... Now that I have inherited the throne of God King, everyone stands united. Sooner or later, they'll be buried beneath the Norse Gods."
Thor raised a fingertip, and hazy illusory light condensed from the void, like a vast ocean drifting around him.
A crystal as clear as a prism rose from that ocean and, guided by Thor, slowly flew toward the roof of the palace.
Since he had inherited the position of God King, Asgard's divine kingdom origin should naturally return with him to the God King's Palace.
