Phew...
The fourth volume, "Symphony of Fallen Gods," had run to a little over seven hundred thousand words and had finally come to an end.
That word count was more or less within Sanjiu's expectations, since there really had been quite a lot to cover in this volume.
The New King and Old King of the capital, the new recruit training on Kunlun Mountain, the Peach Banquet in Kunlun Void, the Heavenly Venerates' inquiry and Great Xia's return, the battle to defend the monument, Heaven and Hell and Cool Bro's departure, Emperor of Domination, Utopia, the agents' gathering, King's Treasury, killing Loki, destroying the Norse pantheon, slaying Odin, Bragi's wish...
By now, most of the foreshadowing laid down in this volume had been wrapped up. Si Xiaonan fulfilled her long-cherished wish, Bragi found her wife again, Michael completed his mission, Monkey King returned to Great Xia, and everything had reached a perfect conclusion... Ahem, aside from a few knives. (doge)
As I've said before, not a single plot point in this volume was unnecessary, nor was there any padding to forcibly drag out the pacing. I know this will definitely draw criticism from some people again, but Sanjiu can say with a clear conscience that I have nothing to be ashamed of.
Perhaps some people think that now that "Slaying Gods" has achieved a bit of success, I would surely do everything possible to drag out the pacing and increase the word count to make more money... Sanjiu said this in my previous book as well: a story should end when it ought to end. The same goes for "Slaying Gods." No matter how successful this book becomes, Sanjiu will not forcibly prolong or slow it down. That would be disrespectful to both this work and all its readers.
