The thunderous roar of artillery came from afar. Behind the towering inner wall, a Night Watchman draped in a dark crimson cloak held a list, carefully checking the names on it.
After verifying all six people before her, she lowered the list and nodded.
"Let me briefly introduce myself. My name is Miao Su. I was formerly the captain of Team 010 stationed in Guangshen City, and I am currently serving as the acting commander of Chennan Pass's Fifth Defense Line."
Miao Su's gaze swept across the crowd as she continued, "You were all transferred from other passes as reinforcements. The situation is urgent, so I'll keep this brief. Our defense line is responsible for the area between South Gates Two and Seven of the inner wall. No matter what, we absolutely cannot allow a single giant beast to breach the inner wall and enter the pass. Understood?"
"Understood!" everyone answered in unison.
"Most of you are between the Sea and Boundless realms. If you encounter giant beasts at the Klein realm or above, or even god-level beasts, do not confront them head-on. Do everything you can to keep them occupied and buy time. As long as you hold out long enough, Phoenix Squad or other Human Apexes can rush over and kill them.
"Of course, that is only if the situation remains under control."
Miao Su paused for a moment. "Once the situation completely spirals out of control, I think that as qualified Night Watchmen... you should know what to do."
Everyone clenched their emblems in their palms, determination flashing in their eyes as they nodded heavily.
"Captain Miao, where exactly are these giant beasts coming from? Can't we kill them all?" someone in the crowd asked
