Michael frowned tightly at the figure. "How did you escape from beneath that volcano?"
Decades ago, when humanity first observed Archangel Michael on the moon, they also discovered the Fallen Angel Lucifer sealed beneath a volcano in North America and designated him Number 004.
From then on, Lucifer had remained suppressed at the bottom of the volcano without the slightest disturbance for decades, and humanity and the other divine kingdoms had gradually forgotten his existence.
Until now.
Michael had no idea how Lucifer had escaped from the Mortal Divine Domain. He had not sensed anything at all; only when Lucifer stood atop that mountain did he truly perceive his presence.
Atop the mountain, Lucifer slightly raised his face. Like Michael, he possessed an indescribable perfection, as if he were the ultimate embodiment of every living being's sense of beauty. The only difference was the faintly wicked charm that seeped from his features.
"Did you really think that Mortal Divine Domain alone could suppress me forever?" Lucifer spoke indifferently. "Michael, you are far too confident."
"Even if you broke my seal, I should have sensed something... What exactly did you do?"
"There are beings in this world far more powerful than you." A smile curled across Lucifer's lips, making him look exceptionally sinister beneath the pale lightning. "I merely borrowed their power."
Michael stared at him, seemingly realizing something, and spoke coldly:
"Cthulhu? You actually pledged yourself to them?"
"Call it whatever you like. As long as I can obtain greater power, I do not care what I become... Don't forget, I am the embodiment of 'fall' itself."
