Land of Chaos and Disorder

In the deep sea.

Lin Qiye and Amamiya Haruki slowly descended. Their flashlight beams pierced the pitch-black seawater and fell upon the reefs at the bottom.

Keeping close to the seabed, they searched the surrounding area. Lin Qiye spread his Mental Power to its limit, monitoring the environment like radar. At last, he seemed to sense something and gestured to Amamiya Haruki.

Amamiya Haruki nodded and followed behind Lin Qiye, swimming in a particular direction.

After wandering along the seafloor for quite some time, their flashlight beams suddenly seemed to sink into unfathomable depths. The reefs beneath them had vanished, replaced by a massive underwater pit several hundred meters in radius.

The pit was circular in outline and extended downward. Standing at its edge and looking below, even with their flashlight beams cutting through the black seawater, they could not make out what lay at its bottom.

The two exchanged a glance and nodded at the same time, then jumped toward the bottom of the pit.

Amid endless darkness and seawater, neither knew how long they had been falling. Ever since entering this pit, the laws of physics seemed to have undergone some mysterious change. The buoyancy of the seawater did not slow their descent; instead, it made them fall faster and faster.

In the end, even Lin Qiye and Amamiya Haruki could no longer control their diving speed, much less judge how deep they had sunk.

Second by second, time passed. Then, they suddenly felt the world spin, and their whole bodies shot out of the seawater, tracing arcs through the air before crashing heavily onto the ground.

Amamiya Haruki frowned. Wearing his cumbersome diving gear, he slowly pushed himself up from the ground, his eyes beneath the diving mask sweeping the surroundings in confusion.
