They still had a plant half, and no one knew where that part's central nervous control system was, nor what role it played.

Still, she gave it a try.

She spread out her Mental Power and attached it to the injections. The injections already had tiny needles capable of piercing their skin.

Within seconds, the injections accurately sank into the central area at the backs of those things' heads.

The medicine released slowly. Those things did not sense much of a threat, so they paid it no attention.

Moreover, they seemed to have discovered the benefits of eating the other half of their own bodies.

For a time, those things ruthlessly turned on their own bodies.

Xi Xiu did not even need to split them apart anymore. They tore themselves to pieces.

Then they wolfed them down.

After swallowing them, they had thought they would immediately be fully restored, perhaps even become stronger. Yet after waiting a long time, none of them found any new power.

Those things had not accounted for the effects of the injections that had entered their bodies.

Although eating their own bodies did give them more energy, their rate of growth slowed considerably.

Their energy and growth both dropped into the negatives.

Xi Xiu ignored those things that had eaten themselves and shifted her gaze farther away.

There were still some there, watching their companions on the perimeter.

Their eyes were filled with scrutiny and curiosity.

Using Ebony's vines, Xi Xiu sprang into the
