Today's second update: Chapter 2031! 2/4!
Race surrender!
That was, voluntarily admitting defeat, handing over one's race's Sequence Ranking and race points, then being cast into the Wildlands Battlefield to start over and accumulate anew.
But such cases were rare. After all, neither a race's exclusive Race Battlefield nor its original Sequence Ranking could be easily abandoned, unless the race had suffered such immense losses that the war had dragged down the entire race, leaving it no choice but to surrender.
Or, under the Myriad Races Battlefield's rules, one side might lose the foundation needed to remain a complete race—that was, too many of its members had died for it to sustain the war, resulting in an automatic defeat.
The outcome was the same. In this closed war under the bottom-elimination system, one side would always be severely wounded and enter the Wildlands Battlefield after being eliminated.
However, the victorious race would not necessarily fare much better.
After swallowing all of the opposing race's points, its Sequence Ranking would naturally rise once the Second Tier War ended. Yet after a long, bloody war where neither side would give up until the very last moment, even the winner would usually be badly weakened.
And that was still the better outcome. More often, both sides suffered grievous losses.
In other words, the two races would exhaust all their reserves, leaving behind only a so-called Sequence Ranking.
This meant that the defeated race would lose everything and enter the Wildlands Battlefield to begin anew, while the victorious race would face the covetous eyes of the surrounding races.
That was why, in every War of the Myriad Races, the greatest changes in Sequence Ranking occurred among the bottom hundred races.
They were like leeks, replaced batch after batch. Today it was you; tomorrow,
