Almost the instant he landed, the giant crocodiles below, already ravenous, lunged at him in a frenzy! Their peerlessly sharp teeth clamped down viciously on every part of the Wild Ox Avatar! Hard scales and knotted muscle were ripped apart and pierced through! The teeth-grating sounds of gnawing and shattering bones rang without end!
Overwhelming pain surged through A Li's soul like electricity. His massive avatar shook violently, yet remained nailed in place, utterly unmoving! With his own flesh and blood, he erected the final barrier for his comrades, enduring the torture of ten thousand crocodiles devouring his body!
Protected at the center, Yanran was the first to have her shackles removed. Looking at the wounds constantly splitting open across the avatar and the energy light pouring from them, her eyes instantly reddened like blood. Her voice broke with sobs. "Brother Li! Go! Leave us behind! Go—!"
"Shut up!" A Li roared at Yanran like thunder, something he rarely did. His voice rumbled within the avatar like that of a wounded lion.
