Its canine nostrils flared as it panted. It felt the white dragon's secret was not something she did not wish to reveal; more likely, she believed that even if she said it, no one would believe her.

Its head grew sleepy from listening. It stood, opened its huge jaws in a yawn, stretched hard, then twisted around, changed position, and continued lying at the doorway.
The sky was dim and reddish. There was no sunlight, no clouds, mist, wind, or rain. Staying here too long was enough to grow bored.
The Howling Celestial Dog wondered whether it should head to the battlefield and hunt down a few fiends. The Devil Race camp on the other side relied entirely on its numbers. Their leader was a demon with one ram's horn broken off, timid as a mouse and never showing his face.
If it found the chance to kill him, perhaps the Devil Race would settle down for a while.
