The Bamboo Spring Temple group finally found a restaurant that served nothing but vegetarian dishes.
They had seen Wild Boar Demon's restaurant earlier, but its anything-goes carnivorous-and-vegetarian style was not suitable for a meal. After wandering around for quite a while, they finally came across a place specializing in vegetarian food. A place even ghosts would not visit surely had no meat. Its door curtain was tattered, with two air-dried radishes hanging outside as a sign.
Snake Demon Boy went in first.
A moment later, he came out, lifted the curtain, and called Old Hui Xian and the others inside. He even spoke, a rare occurrence.
"Nothing but vegetarian dishes."
After saying that, he stood to one side and held the curtain. Little Stone ran curiously into the restaurant, then froze.
Several huge rabbits came hopping toward him. They were gray, fluffy Rabbit Demons, several times larger than ordinary rabbits. Like many spirits and monsters, they habitually retained their original appearances: big eyes, three-lobed mouths, long hind legs, two protruding front teeth, hopping and bouncing about.
A whole warren of Rabbit Demons ran the restaurant, so their specialty was naturally vegetarian food.
They picked a table at random and ordered several vegetarian dishes, never expecting to find fresh fruit as well.
On second thought, it seemed perfectly normal.
Rabbits were highly adaptable, especially skilled at finding food in the wild. The turmoil and warfare sweeping the world had not affected them too severely.
