The Demonic Beasts that had fled into the mountains were herded and driven in a planned manner. On the outskirts of the Southern Wasteland ran a great river, with sheer cliffs on both banks, wide waters, and swift currents. The locals called it the Raging Waves River. Fish spirits and Water Monsters ran rampant within it; whether human or beast, anything that fell into its waters would not survive.
At a narrow bend in the Raging Waves River, countless Demonic Beasts had gathered atop the cliffs, howling and shrieking. Their numbers neared ten thousand.
Opposite them stood five hundred Snake Demon Soldiers, two thousand Green Wood Mountain demon beasts, and a hundred demon generals. After several days of planned herding, they had finally sealed a vast number of Demonic Beasts onto the peninsula-like cliffs at the river bend. Layer upon layer of weapons gleamed like frost, while Snake Demon archers continuously lofted arrows to drive back the Demonic Beasts that tried to force their way through!
In midair, Bai Yujun and Rain Swallow confronted the high-ranking Demonic Beasts on the opposite bank. Those high-ranking Demonic Beasts could fly and had crossed the river in advance, while the many low-ranking Demonic Beasts unable to fly were trapped behind.
Separated by only a river, both sides could clearly see even the smallest changes in each other's expressions.
