Cultivation Principles

A Demon Core is the Demon Race equivalent of a cultivation foundation. Unlike Human cultivators, who use spirit roots to directly absorb Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy, demons first convert that energy into vitality and blood qi. They then circulate the blood qi through the body with an Internal Breathing Technique until a core can condense. Demon Race techniques developed after this process are called demon arts. 170

Condensation depends primarily on resources, vitality, and repeated qi-and-blood circulation. The process consumes enormous quantities of Vitality Points; Wang Wu loses at least 1,000 points at the start of a single cultivation cycle after taking eighteen Ninth-Rank Situational Vitality Pills. 199

The core system is bound to a demon's bloodline potential. Once Wang Wu's bloodline reaches a certain limit, Demon King-grade poison, supreme food, and ordinary Demon Core advancement can no longer raise his Bloodline Evolution; further growth requires life-and-death trials at the Great Wilderness Demon Emperor level. 199

Physical Nature

A fully cultivated Demon Core is not an ordinary organ. Wang Wu's own cores cannot be located through dissection, even when associated with locations such as his shoulders; they are aggregations of bloodline vitality formed through a complex cultivation method. They dissipate upon their owner's death. 225

• Unfinished or semi-formed Demon Cores can be physically recovered from a corpse. 225
• Mature cores can be expelled and used as direct weapons. Aperture-Opening Demon Cores may be spat out and hurled at targets. 181

Core Inscription

A Demon Core can be inscribed with a basic attribute, Bloodline Talent, Bloodline Secret Technique, demon art, or bloodline-related resistance. The inscription turns the chosen property into a natal support effect. 181
